Bill Clinton himself told that to the American people back when he was pushing NAFTA and signing it. He came right out and said that Americans needed to start competing with the third world. He knew exactly what he was doing with that NAFTA deal, it was for the wealthy elites, they want cheap labor.

Same reason Obama plans to give an amnesty so massive that nothing like it has ever been done anywhere. Essentially anyone who wants to work in the USA or live off USA government now has been given the right to do so. It's no longer important to apply to come here legally, just show up and Obama has some very nice rewards for you.

Why? Not because massive immigration benefits unemployed Americans, or maxed out taxpayers, but because the elites crave cheap labor, and want unlimited quantities of it.

You are truly an ignorant person. It is Republicanism which has brought us to this sorry state.

Globalism is normalizing standards of living.

Ours is going down while others in emerging nations is rising.
Being knocked down a few pegs is going to hurt but it's not like it wasn't forecast.

That is a misconception. First slaves were never cheap. They represented a very large initial investment. Most slave owners were careful to do what they could to get the most out of their investments.
You do have to provide for their sustenance. You must provide medical care. Clothing, housing, ect. You had constant problems with escapes, insubordination, and sabotage.

The system we have now the workers look after themselves, but the fruits of their labor still all go to the wealthy. Their production is higher, and they are much easier to manage. The wage slave of today usually works 45 to 50 years, and dies with nothing to show for a lifetime of work.
They never ended slavery, they only perfected it.
