Marxism teaches community organizing, protesting, and white collar thuggery. Doesn't help the country at all.
Maybe the fact that you don't know anything about Marxism (as this quote proves) indicates, that people should learn something about it.

People always mix up Marxism, Socialism, Communism as this all belongs to "Hammer and Sickle" country. Actually the basic principles of Marxism are part of most other social and economical developments.

I am far from beeing a Marxist, however I see absolutely no problem in teaching it on an academic level, to make people understand how it works, and maybe also why it may NOT work with the given circumstances.

So what?
Sounds like an advanced course that no one is compelled to enroll in.

And, I have to ask: what is it about community involvement that you find so threatening? You are certainly welcome to stay in your bunker and hope for the best, however, when the zombies attack, I'm willing to bet that an organized community will be a bit more successful at repelling the hordes.

Naw, much better to keep people ignorant, then they can just spout off the word as an insult; what good would it be if they had actual knowledge and understanding of the term and therefore knew how foolish they sound?

Learning about something does not include ACTIVISM! This is an indoctrination course plain and simple.

IIRC Mr. Marx was proposing a means of saving Capitalism from the monopoly businesses of his time. Shifting his theory into a totalitarian communism was the work of Lenin and Stalin.

Our system of Mutual fund investment by common workers through programs such as the 401K has achieved much of the workers ownership of the means of production but without control of that production or of the companies involved.

Yeah. After they have helped promote it.

"This course is designed to introduce students to the basic concepts of Marxist thought with an emphasis on the practical applications of Marxist Theory in local political struggle."

"The course’s instructors, Grant Booth and Wael Elasady, are both admitted socialists. They define the course’s goals as:"

1. Students will learn the fundamentals of Marxist theory
2. Students will apply a Marxist analysis to current events
3. Students will apply Marxist theory to local political and community organizing

The lefty communists bending over backwards to defend this nonsense. What more needs to be said. Marx is a hero to them as pointed out in previous posts. I wonder what outfits they will wear in the gulag when these fools get their wish because they won't be the chosen ones like they think they will be. I'll be laughing at them alongside me eating my plate of gruel.
