So you've never heard of social responsibility. It's not personal. Not individual to individual. It's not personal responsibility. It's social responsibility. Rich and poor have social responsibilities.

They pay the most in absolute terms, but they don't pay the most in proportion to their income. The upper middle class generally gets burdened the heaviest.

And "socialist" is a heavily overused pejorative such that it has lost all meaning by now.

Do you normally walk up to random people on the street and ask them these sorts of questions? This post is schizophrenic. Background might be helpful.

If they think I (or any other citizen) should obediently go to war for their profits, they can go eff themselves.
I don't believe in the bs from the "wealthy and successful" that they call 'news'.
I do not owe the "wealthy and successful" any of my loyalty, obedience, or personal sacrifice, for that we have conservatives.

+1

I don't owe the wealthy anymore fealty than I owe the government. Unfortunately there are too many that carried away with their anti-government rhetoric that they too easily slip into the shackles of rich dirtbags that will make their lives even more miserable. In this case the enemy of your enemy is NOT your friend.

They dont owe me anything. If they would like to buy my product I would be happy to sell to them.

I see a lot of right wing BS defending the wealthy and deploring taxes as "theft"

I also see overvaluation of goods based on "market demand" as theft. Think about it, you are taking more than what something is actualy worth.

The same can be said of undervaluation of services so the profits can be transferred to people who did nothing useful (basically underpaying employees so bosses and stockholders can get profits).

I'm against that kind of theft too. I call double standard on the part of the righties.

I offer a compromise. I want to see living wages paid. Appropriate pricing of gas and rent. The more we can see that, the more I'm willing to cut social programs (and the taxes that fund them)

uhoh, I said the C word. Guess we can forget about that...

No you don't.

and

No you don't.

Our goofy leftie "fairness" home ownership programs caused the housing problem, just as they caused college tuition rates to increase by 300% over the lest decade.

Businessmen WILL find a way to beat and take advantage of ANY government mandate.

Government needs to stop trying to make things "fair".

Leftie politicians need to stop creating policy based on emotion and instead use rational thought.

However, rational thought will not get votes.

You should repeat that to the CEOs of various well known retail companies that are benefiting from having the wages of their lower end employees subsidised by government programs.
