Right as GMO feed stock was being pushed. The bone meal from other cows and sheep is blamed, but did anyone ever look at the concentrations of GMO proteins in the bone meal?
Why is BSE (Mad cow) still around, if feed lots no longer feed dead cow bones to beef cattle?
I don't think it has anything to do with mad cow disease, but industrial meat production turned our cows, turkeys and chickens into cannibals decades ago by mixing animal fat into the feed.
Knowing what prions are, what causes them, and what a GMO is, I don't think so. GMO's aren't some secret recipe where we don't know what they plasmids are made of. There's no way they'd code for the bovine protein that misfolds to become a prion. That only comes from other cows or related animals and there'd be no reason to put it in a plant it would have no use. This comes from the messed up process of feeding cows other cows end of story. I'm not some shill for Monsanto, but I won't think this is GMO's unless I can get some evidence beyond mere speculation.

Thanks for your insightful post.
I'm wondering how the cow got it then, if the practice of feeding herbivores... a diet including animal parts has been halted?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the bone meal and animal fat they feed the cattle have to actually CONTAIN Mad Cow for it to be transmitted to another cow?
Yeah, I do believe you are correct. However, apparently the incubation period for BSE can be months or years even, in animals and with humans (the BSE variation known as Creutzfeldt-Jakob)
