"Taxation without Representation" was THE impetus for our own Revolutionary War, and yet citizens of the US demanding representation rights is somehow a "threat" to you?!

You all prove once again that were this 1776, today's conservatives would have been loyalists to the crown! Disgusting.

Ah, Congressional gimmickry, who'd ever have thought it. I could see giving these people a Rep, just to shut them up but not 2 Senators. And BTW, many of these wankers are Representatives themselves, just looking for another vote.

Better yet, why don't we just elect an official Congressional B*tch Slapper and tell them all to just ****.

But why not 2 senators? DC has a bigger population than some states (I think) but currently no representation in the senate. Is that democratic?

The only member of the House of Representatives who is a resident of Washington, DC, is Eleanor Holmes Norton, and she doesn't get to vote. Just watch...

DC (0 Senators) is only larger than Wyoming (2 Senators) at the moment, but with a little more gentrification, Vermont (2 Senators) and North Dakota (2 Senators) are within range...

Correct me if I am wrong here but when it comes to voting and representation isn't DC covered as part of Maryland? Wouldn't this be like wanting separate/additional senators for the city of NY in addition to the state of NY?
I know DC is not a state, it is a district, but I was taught in school (many, many years ago and CRS has set in) that even though it is not a state that in many respects it is a part of Maryland property? For example if you lived in DC and you wanted to contact your state rep, you would contact Maryland rep...right?

Geezzz, by that logic, same for Texas -- elected and re-elected Bush as gub-ner.

And thank goodness for that. She is little more than is a hot-air balloon.
