Your right, I don't like Romney either...but I want Obama out, and Romney will be nothing more then another Bush, but that is all they are giving us to vote for....

It's who they wanted in....he'll be another puppet for the corporations and special interest groups....including the church...

I don't know why it's so so very hard for America to understand what is going on and admit that both parties are corrupt, and maybe when that happens, change will happen.

but way to many American's are uninformed, and vote out of dedication to they're parties...and it's freakin ridiculous...

We ought to be working together to demand change...

And you and other right wingers refuse still to raise taxes on the wealthy, and only offer drastic to middle class benefits.

Middle class and poor families have got to be out of their mind voting Republican.
And you and other left wingers refuse to get any control on spending.

You would be hard pressed to show a gov't program that is efficient.

When they can show that they haven't wasted what they already get, then maybe we can talk about giving them more. Not until

We don't need to raise taxes on anyone.

We need to stop spending like drunken sailors. (apologies to sailors)

One example. We have 42 federal job training programs. Maybe if we consolidated them it would help.

There are thousands of fed programs that could be reduced or eliminated altogether.

All the left winger want to do is INCREASE spending.

Exactly! It really doesn't matter who will win next time. They are all same, we have one-party system in fact. I wonder why people cannot get it, and especially when they discuss and take seriously the minor problems such as gays, etc. We are not in so good economic shape to really worry about it.

I am not voting for either, but if Romney is as bad as Bush and Obama, then it is probably best if Obama stays in.

It is sad indeed. Ron Paul was clearly the only candidate who undersood the root causes for the problem and offered solutions to fix them, but Republicans opeted for another big government big spending puppet. Some things never change.

It's not really a partisan issue.

And as long as a substantial portion of the electorate view governmental meddling in sectors of the economy where it has no business as the "solution" to a "problem", the "problem" will continue to fester.

Nearly fifty years ago, on the verge of the Vietnam debacle, a writer named Walter Teller observed in his work "Area Code 215", that (paraphrased) "the problem with warfare is that it creates a better variety of jobs"; whether one chooses to apply that analysis to a military buildup, or the current infatuation with High Speed Rail and other "public works" dreams, the logic is the same.

The private sector imposes economic discipline, and that discipline usually makes for dull work -- responding to the momentary whims of those who have disposable income. When a formerly-dominant power loses ground in the high-tech sectors due to a globalizing economy, the "bad job" dissatisfaction increases for those in the lower regions of the heap.

That, in a nutshell, is the root cause of our current discontent, and no "demand for change" is going to alleviate it.

College employment rates are tied to the degrees they are getting. Only so many hrand psychiatric jobs available.

Remember, in 1950, a large amount of jobs were government construction jobs, and military.

Look, the economy isn't perfect, but nothing the gop has offered would create anymore jobs then the current administration. What seems the issue to me is that people are willing to vote against Obama, when the alternative isn't any better, could be much worse.

I'm not voting for either clown from the democratic or republican party.

why do we need to raise taxes? it is always raise taxes. why not cut spending instead. cut every departments funding by 50% without raising any taxes and the USA would be alot better. also fire 50 % of every department as well.

Its nice to say "cut all departments by 50%" but that isn't practical. We have to look at the greatest waste in spending. Now my personal view is that our defense spending is dramatically bloated when compared to any other country on earth. But, republicans don't seem to take that argument well, and for the most part, neither do democrats. 70 to 90% of our federal budget is in defense, social security, and medical spending. You need to cut into that pie to make a difference. Otherwise you're just spinning your wheels.

Poll after poll shows that Americans (70% polled) want defense cut, social security and medicare saved, and raise taxesto make up the budget shortfalls. Neither party seems willing to honor that request.
