WARNING: LIBERAL DEMOCRATS TRYING TO CHANGE CONGRESS!

The liberal Dems are pushing for Washington DC to have votes in the US Senate and the US House of Representatives. Sounds fair right? Yeah it does.

BUT there is a problem: Democrats have BANNED all firearms from Washington DC saying DC is NOT a state!! And guess what? They are right! DC is not a State, it is a District!! So the US Constitution does NOT apply there.

So how can they have seats in Congress if they are NOT a state?!?

AHA!! That's the scheme!! They wnat to hijack the current Congressional set-up and add seats of their own. But when it comes time for them to respect the US Constitution, they say NO.

Folks, we need to call Congress and DEMAND the rule of law be respected!! Let's not let the liberals scam us yet again!! NO SEATS IN CONGRESS FOR WASHINGTON DC UNTIL IT BECOMES A STATE!!

Here is an article written by the liberal Yahoo News:

D.C. Mayor Urges Senate to Grant City Voting Rights in House - Yahoo! News (broken link)

Umm the liberal left has been trying and succeeding in some instance to change congress set up to their advantage for years and years. Why do you think it scares me so much about getting Dem in the oval office at the same time the Dems are majority in House and Senate? For example: Why do you think they are so against line item veto? So they can pad every bill that goes up to Bush with such far left items included (that have NOTHING to do with the main subject of the bill) that he has no choice but to veto due to all the add ons then they get in the media saying Bush vetoed the main bill subject and he looks like the *******. Yea, far left liberals have all kinds of trick and find every loop hole they can. Nothing new there.

Agreed. Hillary gets the big casino. Filibuster-proof majorities in both houses of Congress, and at least one SCOTUS pick.

Scary.

What really is the problem with folks in DC getting to have a congressional Representative? Right now they have none.

DC is about the same population as Alaska, Wyoming, North Dakota and other small states, but instead of "0" congressmen and "0" senators, they get 2 senators and 1 congressman.

Maybe if they were exempted from income tax or something I'd be fair to have no voting members of congress. They are US citizens, not illegal immigrants... why do they get the same amount of votes?

PS, the whole "gun ban" tie-in is a pretty week one since dozens of cities (New York, Chicago, etc) also ban handguns.

I think people who elected and re-elected Marion Barry are not qualified to vote in the Presidential election. They should have to do community service or something to re-qualify themselves. And then pass a really hard test.

Marion Barry aside, of course the people of DC deserve representation. If it were a Republican-leaning area, I have a feeling the supporters for this move would feel differently.

dumb voters never has and never will be a prerequisite for getting representation.

If you could, then I think the whole state of Florida has proven time and time again that they can't be trusted to vote.

Republicans have long opposed DC's having voting representation in Congress for the simple partisan reason that a majority of its citizens are Democrats. So the current proposal would also add a seat in Utah, a Republican stronghold, thus giving the people of DC some semblance of a voice without disrupting the existing partisan balance in the House. It might pass, it might not. Either way, reports such as the several that started this thread have little more than their humor-value to offer...
