The Peoples Republik of Kalifornia. The liberal socialists dream. ONE of the MAJOR reasons it is falling apart is because of its totally unrealistic socialist ideals. Many people on this thread continue to push for this ideal. Of course they want it. They want government sponsored healthcare, child care, welfare, and their "social safety net." All so THEY don't have to work for it and/or work as hard for it. Yes they want it, they just want someone else to pay for it.
I think most people just want a living wage, be able to spend time with their families, and not be in despair.
Apparently America is so divided between the major party competition, that doing something that actually works, gets lost in the get ahead, and step on your countrymen mentality.

Food aid would not be necessary if the system was not about getting ahead.
Someone is always left behind, when the goal it to get ahead.

The two party system of want and conquer needs to go away. It's time to get over it and return to freedom, and opportunity.

850,000 people! Is this what we've become as a nation? A nation of fraudulent leeches???
Yep.

And they're easy to spot on forums, too.

Dude, it's like 1% of the total program!!

Let's compare that with some Pentagon Programs.

No, cuz God Forbid we do that, huh?
So you agree that the program is wayyyyyyyyyyy too big and should be cut back. At least this way the fraud would be a bigger percentage of the pie, and then maybe you'd care.

The 99%ers bust me up. $750m is nothing when it's food stamp fraud.

Let's also add in the billions in medicare, unemployment, and welfare fraud.

If you don't have motivation, all the freedom and opportunity in the world is still wasted.

It's absurd isn't it? They hone in on 1% as if it's some abstract number that doesn't have a correlating value. It's mindboggling the lengths people will go to defend fraud, waste, and abuse when they perceive the crosshairs to be affecting something they cherish.

You do realize that this estimatd fraud is just 1% of the total spent on food stamps. So in other words, the vast overwhelming majority of people on food stamps aren't doing this.

Yes -- I would suspect that the fraud is much much higher than the government is admitting. The whole food stamp and WIC programs should be shut down because likely there is more fraud than honesty.

Ever wonder why there are so many ads selling baby formula on Craigslist? The welfare crowd routinely uses their WIC coupons to buy formula and babyfood which they then turn around and sell.

Talk about seflf exaggeration!

Are you for or against the gov't trying to stop waste, fraud and abuse?
"WE" means anyone that read the posts here, the quote I posted, and has read the many past posts of the same poster. People can come to their own conclusions as to the real meaning, this is not right-wing central which means people can and often do think for themselves here.

I never made such a claim, you are projecting again

What is "seflf" do not seem to be able to find that in my dictionary?

If you did not have such an obvious reading comprehension problem you would have seen that I already said that I was FOR Reform, I have been saying the same for years now.

Suggestion, try actually reading what people post and not being so quick that you jump on the first thing you see and rush off to yap at others on it, it is fine to be quick enough but being too quick can only lead to you making yourself look foolish, again.

Liberals don't care about fraud, plain and simple. This thread proves that.

LOL you right wingers bust me up, the right wing war machine has been screwing the nation out of billions and billions of dollars, but that's ok, lets just attack a tiny portion of welfare fraud. What a joke

Pentagon Reports Billions of Dollars in Contractor Fraud

How about this lovely work from another GOP scumbag charging the nation 6.5 million for "drip pans"
