For Jesus said, “If you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his blood, you will not have life in you.” (John 6:53)
and again: “He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I in him” (John 6:56).
So, do you think that eating bread and drinking wine during a special religious ceremony equates to eating the actual flesh and blood of Jesus?
Cherry-picking Bible verses is rather useless. To understand any verse - you must read it in its context and contrast it with the entire counsel of the Word. Also - use some common sense. The bread and wine are symbols of Jesus's death on the cross - when we eat them, we remember that He died for our sins and we symbolically join in his death and ressurection. The early Christians understood this - and it wasn't until later that the words became corrupted and transubstantiation was seriously considered. If you had done what I had asked and done some research, you would understand this. I suggest that if you are really serious in getting to the bottom of this, and not trying to build strawman arguments against the Bible - that you do some study on transubstantiation and also read the entire New Testament. I think you find the process of doing so enlightening.
Do some research on transubstantiation and then get back to me. It is obvious that you are not interested in actually learning anything and just want to play games by setting Christian beliefs against each other. I have already said that it will not work. Go study.
1 Cor 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God
It is sick. And some people argue drugs should be legalized......
Legalizing drugs or not doesn't prevent usage. Drug usage in this case hasn't been confirmed, according to the article. In fact, really nothing has been confirmed.
