DEAL WITH IT!
You already HAVE equal rights!!! Your rights are NOT being violated!! You have no more of an argument that a man who wants to marry an animal has!! it is NOT something that is debateable....marriage....by the accepted definition THROUGHOUT the ages, is between a MAN & WOMAN. Period.

If we are to say that YOUR rights are being violated because you are not able to marry a man...then we could say the same about Mormons who are not allowed to marry more than one woman...or a man who wants to marry his pet so that he can pass on a fortune to it....etc.

Your argument holds no water. If marriage were a RIGHT, then you might be able to speak of rights being violated...but then so would everyone else who thinks something outside the norm.

this whole discussion is just sickening. it isn't about getting rights...because basically, gays HAVE those rights via civil unions in almost every state. This is simply about taking the institution of marriage AWAY from people of religion and people who wish to preserve our traditions. Truly...that is what this is mostly about. A desire from the left to take something away from the 'hated' religious people of this country....because it sure as HELL isn't about rights...since you already have them.

I don't brag about it...I think it's cool that people are honest with their preferences though.

Default why do people who are anti gay brag about the fact that people vote down gay marriage?

I've never heard anyone brag about it to tell the truth.

Me either... when the ban gets upheld people just go on about their business.. The only ones I hear brag and rub peoples nose in the dirt are the homosexuals and advocates when gay marriage bans are lifted...

Then you hear all the snively, snort laughter and other antagonist behavior. lol

the rights of a minority shouldn't be put to a vote of the majority

The "rights" shouldn't be "interpreted" by a rent-seeking government and justice department.

why the hell did big government get involved in marriage in the first place? time to privatize this, among many other things. The gays are right!

Civil unions do not have the same benefits as marriage, and are not recognized by the federal government.

BTW, religion does not own marriage. It was a civil function before it was a religious function.
