23 BILLION dollars left our economy last year how is that not hurting our country? Especially in these economic times?
It is also taking jobs from out of work Americans here legally how is that not hurting our economy?
We also give MEDICAL, HOUSING, ETC assistance to them that we tax payers pay for and how is this not hurting out country and its people?
Clinton opened many flood gates while in office and giving amnesty was one of them more came hopping for the same thing.
It is insulting to all of us if we just look at the dollar amounts that are leaving this country to bolster another countries economy and Mexico is NOT a Poor country either do some research on the money that Mexico pulls in they just keep their people poor.
What should be happening is Mexico should be digging into their pockets and taking care of its own people it is not our job to do so.
And especially at the expense of American citizens

Foreign remittances, mainly from the United States, are Mexico's second-largest source of foreign exchange after oil exports.
They peaked at $26 billion in 2007 as the housing boom hit its top and are expected to be $23 billion for 2011.

I agree with everything you said except the Clinton part. Since the 1986 amnesty courtesy of the over-rated president Ronald Reagan, our borders have remained wide open.

Reagan's amnesty was a huge mistake.
Mexican remittances were up in 2011 - while the American people suffered big losses, and remittances to Mexico are way up in 2012. The illegals are doing exceptionally well and they are sure to do even better with their new work visas that let them grab all the good paying jobs now.

Mexican immigrants, or criminal aliens? If they are legal immigrants, they made the money legally, it's up to them what they do with it. Money made by illegals is a result of a criminal act. Much like drug money, it should be seized, and used to pay for some of the costs of criminal aliens. That would take away a portion of the incentive for committing crime.

Indeed it was. Leaving both the front and back doors of this country wide open, lack of enforcement of our laws and the premise designed to control immigration is accelerating the demise of America's sovereignty.

Reagan knows that was a mistake. Yet we want to continue and try the same nonsense. Bush, Clinton, and Obama have again, failed to secure our borders and deal with the problem. The thing is, if Romney steps up to deal with it, he will get crapped on by the media, Hollywood, and most liberals. We'll get the race card bombardment and the other usual crap.
We put states in a tough predicament, like Arizona. And when they are tired of the federal government not doing its job and take matters into their own hands to stand up for its citizens, they get sued by the feds.
The only way to deal with the problem is to get tough. Very tough. Yet anyone who tries to do so, will be met with lawsuits, crying, whining, shouts of racism, etc.
If you are concerned about money draining from our economy then you should be the most ardent supporter of weaning us from imported oil... over $37 Billion leaves us every MONTH... Now that is a shame that we can do something about. I'm working on developing a community that provides 100% of its own energy.....
End the drug war,the entitlements and promise of amnesty and watch the self deportation begin.
The ones that come through proper channels and stay, will be productive individuals we should welcome.
Much of that money being shipped out every month is untaxed. Very often illegals work under the table, are paid in cash, while their children bring in huge government handouts -- illegals virtually never pay health insurance premiums, Obama has even spared them from having to pay for his health care plan. Obama requires $0 from illegals for Obamacare.
Because of the plentiful welfare handouts and the unreported cash, illegals actually have much more money left after bills that they can afford to send $800 each back to their country.
Most Americans working, paying taxes, health insurance premiums don't have that kind of spare cash.
