Folks, this subsidy is a tax credit, not cash in hand. So these people who cannot afford insurance will have to find the money somewhere and then claim it on their 1040. Pray tell, where are they going to find it ?

See, this is where the great divide exists between us. We.....democrats, liberals, moderates, educated, progressives.......whatever you want to call us believe that as a nation we have a social and moral responsibility to insure the health of our citizens.
You and your ilk believe that access to health care is a privilege reserved for those who can afford it and it should be a "for profit endeavor".
The health of a nation's people should never be a for profit situation and every 1st world nation already know's this, except us. This, I firmly believe and this divide is what makes us enemies, politically and otherwise. Believe it or not, we are ready, if and when the time comes.

You all can kick and scream, hold your breath, rant, rave and do whatever you want to do. Facts are, all three branches of the Federal Government has endorsed the ACA. The Congress passed it, the Executive Branch signed it into law and the Supreme Court upheld it. You folks so blithly saying that you will repeal it are dreaming.
It won't have to be repealed. It will fly off the cliff with the whole rest of the government when it can't figure out what to do on January 1st, 2013.

Raise taxes for just the rich? They can't pay for all of your ******* wild wet-dreams now or ever.

Raise taxes on everyone back to pre-tax cut days? Mohawkx meet the real great recession since the great depression.

Plus you have automatic spending cuts set to be put in place which will exacerbate your problems.

Everything in between is a total fail.

You want to keep SS, Medicare, Medicaid and now Obamacare? You'll have to raise taxes even greater than what letting the tax cuts expire mean. Mohawkx, meet the next great great recession.

You see, you think if you say things then that makes it all true which defines you as a liberal. The part liberals seem to totally fail on all the time is a very simple concept. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Nothing is free and nothing goes without consequences.

You want to keep raising your debt ceiling so that you can keep financing the liberal wet-dreams? How much money do you think the rest of the world has to finance your wet dream? Apparently you think it's endless.

So let's sum it all up.

  • You have a social safety net that is in its death throws. To temporarily save it you'll need to raise taxes, means test and cut programs and quite substantially.
  • You have an unsustainable debt that will only be closed by raising taxes on everyone a substantial amount.
  • You have a debt ratio that exceeds your GDP and your percentage of debt to world GDP is about 25%. By 2030 (when the **** is hitting the fan from your gross incompetence regarding the social safety net and if the world will finance your debt unconditionally) your debt to world GDP ration will be 50%
  • There will be automatic cuts in spending which will put people on the UE line and will take away from revenues to both the State and Federal governments.
  • You have world markets that are teetering on the brink which will also only exacerbate your problems.
  • You have state and federal pensions that are massively underfunded to the tune of $1.3 (if they expect a 6 - 8% investment return) - $4.0 trillion (if they pass the event horizon and have to rely on an investment return tied to the Treasury).
  • You have infrastructure that needed $2.5 trillion invested in it 10 years ago and about $5 trillion invested in it since you waited.
There's no Vaseline, you've been beaten to a pulp, you're locked in prison and the Mandingo Warrior™ is your cell mate and he hasn't had any affection for 20 years and he's looking at you and licking his lips.

What's your solution? Spend more money you don't have...

Doctors and hospitals don't even know how this is going to eventually affect them. Now this thing hangs around the necks of the middle class and does harm to the very people you say it is meant to help. According to supporters of this new law, seen singing the praises of the new law even herein, Obama said he would give a pain pill to our elderly rather than treat them. Isn't that just lovely.

You want to help those who didn't have coverage? That's fine. This thing, however, is a monstrosity. Obama had no interest in helping the uninsured--he just wants to control health care.

We're not kicking and screaming about it. We're shocked you all are really buying into what's been sold to you. Hoo freaking ray for the Democrats.
they had to pass the bill so we could see what was in it, and this was odd:

Buried beneath the thousand or so page monster known as “Obamacare†was a measure in place having nothing to do with actual health care, health care costs, or ways in which to provide affordable, high quality care for lower income Americans. IN this bill there was a provision put in place by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi that would give the federal government via the Dept. of Education sole control of student loan access.

Now I’ve been asking this question for a good three years and I have yet to come across an answer: “What do student loans have to do with health care?†(redstate)

i think a lot of americans would like the answer to that question.

I saw another one that raised my eyebrows..a $24 billion tax on the paper industry regarding pollution control.
Isn't that the job of the EPA ?

A few private corporations is bad but a single government agency is good? Please explain.

The same way their country does with Americans. If they are from a country that would treat an American in the same situation, treat them. If they aren't , stabilize and deport.

Why?

Why pay a penalty, when you do not need insurance?

For the greater good of the collective. So the children are not dying in the streets.
But more importantly, so the Fed can turn around and give that money to someone else who "deserves it more".

Question. The President said that illegals won't be covered under this program. How will this be prevented?
