the books main claim is based on vintage porn picks of a woman that looks similar to stanley ann dunham. the book then takes the huge leap in logic that frank marshall davis took the photos therefor that is evidence that they had an affair which produced a child. one problem with the theory..........

the porno pics were originally published in 1955 when stanley ann was 13 ( the model is obviously not 13 ) and living in wichita kansas. it would be another 5 years before she even had an opportunity to meet FMD.

If I went looking, would I find similar grammatical errors in your posts?

Oh, yeah, I would, and I wouldn't have to do much looking.

For the engineer and the actuary, every single internship employer looked at college transcripts.

Government job applications, in fact, very frequently require the submission of college transcripts, regardless of whether or not it's the applicant's first job.

It is not at all unusual for an employer to request job applicants' transcripts.

You're losing me here. First, giving some additional weight to the selection of under served minorities for the Harvard Law review is affirmative action. According to the policy, the students were selected anonymously--the judges only knew their writing sample and test scores, as well as race. The president said in his editorial that he may well have benefited from affirmative action in his selection as editor of the Harvard Law Review--so what?

That's a completely different situation than saying that Obama enrolled as a foreign student or falsified documents to get himself into Columbia. As a woman, I benefited from affirmative action during the 70s as well. The goal is that when all other things are relatively equal, giving a percentage of under served minorities a small advantage helps those minorities to gain access to programs that were previously closed to them. As more minorities move through those programs, the prejudices against them disappear, and more opportunities open for their group as a whole. That's pretty much been the case--women make up the majority of college students now, including professional programs, and the rate of minority college students in this country has risen dramatically since the 70s. With better education comes professional opportunity. Hillary Clinton, Condi Rice and Colin Powell have all been secretary state, the glass ceiling for women is shattering in business, Michael Steele was the chair of the RNC, and we have a black president. None of that would have been possible without programs like affirmative action that ensured minorities had a chance at a quality education. The program has worked. Why is this a problem for you?

One thing I will add--Obama graduated from both Columbia and Harvard with honors. Affirmative action just gets you into a program--after that you're on your own, sink or swim, with your grades. I think it would be pretty much impossible to say that an honors student didn't deserve the opportunities he was given, and that he received them just because he was black.

He's a bloviator, that isn't fond of commas or even proper grammar That's what affirmative action wroughts.

I must say, however, that as someone who has undoubtedly benefited from affirmative action programs during my academic career, and as someone who may have benefited from the Law Review’s affirmative action policy when I was selected to join the Review last year, I have not personally felt stigmatized either within the broader law school community or as a staff member of the Review. Indeed, my election last year as President of the Review would seem to indicate that at least among Review staff, and hopefully for the majority of professors at Harvard, affirmative action in no way tarnishes the accomplishments of those who are members of historically underrepresented groups.
He is our first and last affirmative action pResident.

From that second link--what are "unofficial college transcripts"?
