It just amazes me how much the Democrats and Republicans have managed to turn American politics into a sport where Americans get divided on team lines and rabidly support their party no matter what. Every time one party assumes office, things inevitably worsen and the other side screams bloody murder that their team can do things much better. And when they eventually weasel their way back into control, things worsen again and the other team cries foul and how they have the answer this time. It is a bloody circus. Americans eat it up, though.

Politics are a necessary evil when you govern human beings. If you want escape politics, you'll have to find a place without people.

Hey, it's been worse. We were once so divided we had a civil war.

Better to have the two political factions talking rather than fighting.

It hasn't really gotten worse, it's just being broadcast.

Fifty years ago you wouldn't know what was going on in the political arena as the press was controlled by AP, Reuters, and Scripts. Newspapers may not carry the story, and then it would be a day later. Now it's controlled by the Internet and in your face as it happens.

If you don't want to see it then tune in The Animal Planet, or cartoons.

Did I say I was sick of talking about politics? I said I was sick of the American politics because of how ridiculous it all is.

I do not want to escape politics, though. The point being made is that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans serve the interests of the people they are supposed to represent. Neither side has accomplished anything. Neither side will accomplish anything. They are both rife with corruption and largely driven by the interests of corporations and wealthy individuals. Your average American is the furthest thing from their mind. And it just ludicrous how people get wrapped up in these petty conflicts by becoming fans of their favorite political team despite the fact that these people are not working to their benefit.

I want to become more invested in politics so positive change can occur. I am just angry that the entire system conspires against it.

I was just giving you a hard time. No harm intended.

But honestly, politics has always been a messy business. Maybe it's time for you to take a mental vacation from political news for a few days. Everybody needs a break from it once in a while.
