ABC News' Tahman Bradley reports: The country's benefit programs for the elderly – Medicare and Social Security – will be exhausted sooner than thought due to the economic downturn, the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees said today.
Medicare's Hospital Insurance Fund is projected to exhaust its funds in 2024, five years sooner than last year's estimate, and Social Security will be exhausted in 2036, a year earlier than previously thought, the trustees announced.
Finally a glimpse of sanity... down to earth from "we have only 11 years". Now, why exactly is Medicare an issue? Are we not paying enough? Or, is spending a bit too high? Why?
Might as well kill them both by 2021. And when do I get to stop making payments?
So why does the CBO say medicare runs out of money in 11 years Einstein? The plan to save Medicare is not just the voucher to help future seniors pay for healthcare, but creating a new system where there is competition from the private sector. To the socialists reading this: competition lowers costs.

Evidently, Einstein here doesn't even believe his own fearless leader [Obama] in the video in the first post in their thread?
So if Obama wasn't lying to you in that video, why in the hell are you arguing that Medicare isn't going bankrupt (you did say that)?
You don't have a clue what I'm arguing about, do you? Or, is it just that my points are making you bring out the best (and the only thing in your): going crazy.
Medicare needs reform. I've been saying that for a LONG time, and LONG before Obama said it. Health Care system needs reform. I've been saying that for a LONG time, and LONG before Obama said it. Medicare ain't going broke in the sense of bankruptcy. I can't recall the last time Medicare spending matched the taxes that was collected for it. Can you?
Medicare needs reform. Only a fraction of the spending gets covered via taxes. And it has been getting worse with out of control health care spending, and increase in costs (especially over last 10-14 years). Deforming it, the republican plan, is utter stupidity but stupidity is what motivates the right wing voting bloc and so they keep pushing it, and y'all, keep believing in them.
In 2012, the fools still don't have a clue about what has been done to save Medicare... but most of these fools are those who think a coupon system is the way to go (as long as they aren't the ones having to use it). Idiots.
Speaking of idiots, one thing we know for sure-
robbing $750 billion from a program will not help it.
