Put me in charge of food stamps. Just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal legations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."
Before you write that I've violated someones rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.
How about this... If you "want".... get a job.
How about we shut down ALL federal, state, and local assistance through FORCED taxation and then move to donation based.
Anything less is just theft to serve a particular ideal and it is a line that continues and continues to be pushed further to fit political ideals.
It is simple. You want more people to help a specific cause, then you seek donations. Past that... it is a get bent type of thing.
Either we respect liberty entirely, or we stop urinating in peoples ears about how we care. If you don't care enough to respect an individuals liberty, then you don't care at all.

First, he post is a fantasy. So there is nothing to discuss. It is nothing but hatefilled nonsense that assumes those who receive food stamps should have their food choices limited because it will make the OP feel like they are being punished or suffering to receive their foodstamps. The whole premise is that those who people who receive government assistance in the form of foodstamps or public housing need to suffer while the REST OF US who are receiving government benefits are deserving.
What government benefits you may ask. 401ks, employer provided healthcare, mortgage interest tax deduction, and on and on and on.
The problem is that millions of Americans are sucking at the government trough while feeling self righteous towards other people sucking at the government trough.
If you aren't made to suffer or go through hoops to participate in the 401k government program, why should somebody on foodstamps be made to suffer, oh that's right because some Americans deserve to get their government benefits because they are the right kind of people and those other lazy underserving Americans don't.

This person is represents what I think is in the heart of nearly all conservatives. Their positions don't make sense. They don't want a smaller government. They want the government expanded to define marriage. They want the government to expand voter id laws. They want the government through the police or CIA OR FBI to racially profile mexicans, muslims, and black people. They are in favor of every government war.
They support every major government spending program. From the military, to social security to medicare to medicaid, to unemployment to military vet benefits, etc.
The only spending they hate is the spending they believe is going to the wrong kinds of people.
It is their personal biases against other groups of Americans that animates 99% of this smaller government low tax rhetoric. It is an ugly sentiment.

Nobody said that all food stamp folks are bad..... just the ones who abuse it..... and yes, I am the first one who complains about the big fish getting welfare (they call them bailouts) so I never protect the so called "wealthy"
