If he were a Republican; he'd still be a failure and also an Uncle Tom.
If he were a Democrat; he'd have been the genius who made the world safer from aids and paid for grandma's prescriptions. And look how low he kept unemployment while raising tax receipts, and lowered all of our taxes, all while fighting terrorism!! If Bush were a Democrat he'd be a hero.
One difference, if he were republican, the NRA and the Brady's wouldn't have given him an F on his issues with guns. Especially since he doesn't have any.
The only other charismatic well spoken politician that we can compare him to is Bill Clinton.
I usually agree with most of your POVs, wehotex, but why do Americans keep making this assertion. The first time I heard a Bill Clinton speech, I thought he was a smarmy hick politician. Smarmy, yes. Charming, no.
Well, Obama is white. Half. But the racists are focused on his black half. What would the impact be if people, most people thought he was "white"? Probably 75% of the hateful posts on this forum would disappear.
Liberals seem to think Obama gives a damn about blacks, gays and America.
Obama is too busy for any of us unless it is to get our vote.
Ironic how we never hear about Obama's white side. And you are right, the racists are focused on his black half. Here is one example is Biden. "There going to put you back in chains"! People need to get over what color you are. Don't take it so hard.
Notice how much Obama isn't concerned about blacks. He didn't even show up for the NAACP convention.
Then of course there is Madonna. Now, it's so amazing and incredible to think that we have an African-American in the White House ... we have a black Muslim in the White House ... it means there is hope in this country, and Obama is fighting for gay rights, so support the man," Madonna said.
Notice how much Obama cares about gays. Did he do anything really for gays? Again, there has been no action. He couldn't make room on his schedule for the AIDS Conference in July 2012 despite pressure from activists groups. Does Madonna know that Obama didn't care enough to go to the AIDS conference?
Don't be so sure of that. A lot of people like myself didn't vote for Hillary in the primaries because she carried too much political baggage to get elected in the general election. Even though I highly respect her and thought she'd make a good president, the nation didn't need or want to rehash the Clinton scandals all over again and that's what would have happened. I donated money to bother their campaigns right up until it was time to pick one and vote.
As for Obama beating McCain if he were white, of course he would have. The qualities that attracted people to him are far deeper than his skin color. I'm sorry if you can't see that.
Yes, let's talk about qualities...here's a big one, was he qualified for the job.....No. He just got elected to the Senate and then he was off campaigning. He was there for one session and then the next he was absent for most of it. Hillary at least had served a full term as senator. You're saying Bill was baggage for Hillary...right...that would have been no where near the baggage Bush was for McCain.
If Obama was white then we would never have seen the tea baggers just like they didn't show up under Bush even though there were almost no significant policy changes. Certainly not the day after the election when the first tea baggers showed up. It was originally an almost completely racist reaction to the election of a black man.
Correct. Nor would we have seen the rise of the birther nuts.
Black man with a funny name. If his name was William Johnson and his dad was from Georgia, the opposition would be just a little bit less hysterical.
