Seems the Obama/media honeymoon is over. It took something of this magnitude for the media to realize what many people have known about this inept administration. O has lost his public defenders.
I don't think it's over yet. Even yesterday after this hearing, some still barely talked about it. Obama is in office, so it doesn't deserve wall to wall coverage in their eyes

Ahhhh, the silent treatment. It's a wait and see huh? Well that's certainly a first!!! "We'll comment if all the evidence points to wrongdoing, until then"....
Is this the same silent treatment we are getting from Obama and Hillary??
I've read your posts in other threads on this board, and you are no friend to Obama, nor are you neutral about Obama.
You know, you don't always get what you want. Hopefully you watched the hearing today and found some answers for yourself. Obama nor Hillary Clinton confide in me, so I can't tell you why factually the aftermath was handled as it was. I've come to my own conclusions about the situation. I've offered hypotheticals, I've brainstormed and played devil's advocate, but no one here seems to be able to deal with anything but their own concrete hard beliefs......beliefs are not necessarily facts. And if someone offers any suggestions as to other possible scenarios, god help them.
Never said if I was pro or anti Obama in this thread.. The hearings answered for me that your hypothetical was not part of the reasoning
Well it appears that someone did some research!!!! Good on you!!! Except: He did not appoint himself as Ambassador to Libya. He was officially appointed by Obama in January 2012. As for his security, he relied on his security advisors and apparently he had tremendous faith in their decisions and suggestions as it was stated that he was cooperative with them and apparently didn't questions their knowledge regarding security because that was their area of expertise.
As for WHY Stevens was in Benghazi specifically (which was the question), it wasn't simply because he had been appointed Ambassador, there was a reason he took that trip at that time, and he could have cancelled it if he had felt that it was too dangerous. Appears to be something else you didn't know. He was stationed in Tripoli, NOT Benghazi. And, he relied on his own judgement about taking the trip and the security he needed for that trip. There's no way you can turn that around. You missed the point of most of those questions. What part of the fact that Stevens was in Libya DURING the Revolution, without U.S. protection, did you miss? He was not the Ambassador at that time. The question of level of security ON THAT TRIP to Benghazi on that date was his to make. What's the problem? Can't deal with not having all the knowledge out there about Stevens after you've made such a big deal and point of telling us that you are an avid reader and you don't make assumptions but rely on FACTS which you have researched?
Some folks are just hopelessly bullies and bluffers.

MEANWHILE...Chaffetz (R) admits that Republicans had consciously voted to reduce the funds allocated to the State Department for embassy security since winning the majority in 2010.

Someplace earlier in this thread (I'm not going back to find it) some Liberal said that the families of the slain State Department employees aren't complainting so why should Conservatives.
