All states have a history of lynching. It was the most common form of execution in every state for over a hundred years. In Missouri, there were plenty of white people lynched during the Kansas/Missouri skirmishes during civil war alone.
This really isnt true.....there was one lynchiing in Maine and few to none in the other New England states. Lynchings were not common outside the south....and they were not the most common form of execution even in the old south.

Really? Because the whole Lincoln assissination plotters were hanged. Plenty of documentation of hangings in the old west. I was a prison guard in Texas and that is how death row inmates were executed until about 50 years ago. Your link is strictly stats on lynchings. It does not include civil war lynching and those were quite numerous.
Well, I live in the STL area and have been there plenty of times, but you don't need to be from there or have gone to it to be outraged. It doesn't make it "faux" any more than your post makes your concern "faux".
Well I better clear off the tree in my front yard I adorn with ghosts and other goblins and ghouls every Halloween as to not offend any trick or treaters. I hope the witch I have put up doesn't offend any Meechelle supporters.

Only certain folks can be outraged at perceived lynchings though. So much for fairness.

Understood. Civil war lynching was not judicial but vigilante. The Kansas/Missouri Border wars was a pretty bad one and then when the Gen. Sherman made his sweep of the south, his troops lynched suspected soldiers/sympathizers and even their families (in some cases) without so much as questioning, let alone a trial.
