Man arrested for tossing voter registration forms in Virginia - CBS News

"This individual was an employee of the first firm the Republican Party of Virginia hired to do voter registration before they fired that firm amidst allegations of fraud in other states. Virginians deserve answers as to how this person was still working for Republican campaigns here and whether his behavior was directed by his superiors or party officials," he said. "In order to assure Virginians that this was not part of a larger Republican effort, Attorney General Cuccinelli and state authorities must conduct a thorough investigation into how Virginia Republicans conduct their voter registration and turnout efforts on behalf of George Allen, Mitt Romney and Republicans across the state.

In a statement, Republican Party of Virginia chair Pat Mullins called Small's actions "a direct contradiction of both his training and explicit instructions given to him."

"We were alarmed by allegations recently made regarding an individual in Harrisonburg," he said. "The Republican Party of Virginia will not tolerate any action by any person that could threaten the integrity of our electoral process."

How true. Seems this election it's the GOP caught up in this.

One small point. This is voter registration fraud, not voter fraud.

Do you now support voter ID laws?

What would an ID do against somone who was hired to register voters, but instead threw away the registration cards?

Another good argument for voter ID. We want an honest election, not fraud on either side.

It's no argument for voter ID at all. See the post prior to yours. The people whose registrations were tossed will show up at the polls and find out they're not registered. What does that have to do with voter ID?

Please try to keep up. Individual voters having an ID is not the issue in this case.

It shows the levels people will go to in order to win an election. It certainly shows that measures need to be in place to prevent election fraud at all levels, including voter ID.

This guy took a page out of ACORN's playbook. Since Democrats obviously did not consider it a problem then, why do they suddenly consider it a problem now?

What goes around, comes around.

Acorn never did any registration fraud. Acorn sorted the registration they had acquired, told the Voter registrar this pile is good, this pile needs looking at.

If I am a deputy registrar and you fill out the card I give you with a phony name, or Donald Duck, I still have to turn the card in. The county voter registration department decides what is real and what is bogus.
