Nope. Senate gained like 2 Democratic seats, House gained like 2 Republican seats. So they are each slightly more partisan, but the balance of power is all the same.

Exactly. With practically a 50/50 split of the popular vote, we have even more reason for people to work together.

[this is the United States]

He will do whatever he wants by "Executive Order" or by regulation.
He has the "flexibility" he wanted now. Gridlock is the best we can hope for.

Precisely. He has tried to ram everything down the country's throat with no regard for how it affects the livelihoods of others. Gridlock is necessary. A unified opposition supported by half the voters is sufficient to produce no movement. Beat them into submission to actual bi-partisan efforts.

Personally, I hope that Obama demonstrates ways in which he will take ideas from the Republican side and compromise and work with them.

And I hope that Boehner and others on the Republican side will compromise on some Democratic ideas and work with them.

That is what rational adults would do. Neither side gets 100%, but each side get something.

But this being American politics...I can't say I have much hope.

Oh, please. It is not one-sided. Having to "remind" people "I won" doesn't make for good relations. That's like saying, it's my way or the highway. Even Obama has admitted in so many words that he needs to reach across the aisle.

The Republicans do have a problem - they need to get age appropriate in that this is now 2012, not 1952.

I understand how disappointed and bitter you feel. I see you are angry.

Please stop being childish.

The Republican members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate will not be so pathetic and childish ... we have seen New Jersey Governor Chris Christie act with intelligence, class, and maturity these past few days when touring with President Obama around his storm-battered state.

Obama was reelected. The Democrats held on to Senate. Accept it. Move on. Let go of your bitterness and anger.
