As someone who works in finance I know there are real decisions being made as a result of Obamacare. Still the story rings untrue. One of these 22 people would have turned up by now in tears on some local TV station by now.
Just think if we had universal healthcare these "job creators" wouldn't be firing people because then they would not have to be worrying about buying healthcare for there workers. Hmmmm I wonder which party exactly was against the "single payer option" ??? hmmmmm.....
Basically, sounds like a business that was destined to fail....I wouldn't be surprised to see that owner going bankrupt in the coming years do to poor planning.
Not necessarily. It is just as likely they were at a point of diminishing returns for a myriad of reasons, and will take on less business with less employees, but still make similar profit. In this economy though, it is anyones guess and can certainly be grandstanding on the part of the business owner that would have laid the employees off regardless in the near future.
Or had you forgotten that health care premiums have already been rising for more than a year now, far more than usual, ever since Obamacare was passed?
EXACTLY! Our premiums have trippled under the "redistribution" but why should we complain, after all we are on the low end of middle class so we have money to burn on the free loaders.
ObamaCare is the latest version of passing a stupid law with unintended consequences; as Jed Graham reported in IBD, the number of employers with 49 or fewer employees outnumber the number of employees with 50+ employees by a margin of over 2.4-to-1.
If that's not a major roadblock and/or disincentive to employers hiring full-time employees, then there's no such thing.
So does this mean your calling republicans of the early 90's stupid ? Because that's what Obamacare really is, it's a failed republican healthcare plan.
A "Vegas" business owner? Let's be shocked at how he "fired " 22 Employees because of "ObamaCare"!
Let me guess??
His last name was "TRUMP"
His first name was "DONALD"!
You cut back on the work you accept. That's a no brainer with small business.
The guy who repaved my driveway said he was getting rid of all his help and was just going to go it alone and take on less jobs..enough to pay himself.
These businesses will just not expand or try to grow. They will stay where they are or cut back. In the long run they will get to keep more of their earned money.
So, in order to cut potential health care costs, which are minor in the big picture, you scale back your business and take in less revenue. Sounds like an idiotic business plan.

Sorry, your premiums haven't tripled since 2010. Premiums have been rising by 10% per year since 1970, well before there was Obama Care.
