Well being from Germany, I know that we stored the gold in the federal reserve so the Russkies wouldn't take it during the cold the war. We thought because we had huge surpluses with America we could store the gold at our debtor. We should have known better. Should have send a ship to new york like de gaulle did in the 70's to get his gold back. Well I'm comforted that the Swiss have the same problem.
The problem isnt that the physical gold might be missing. Its that the paper gold claims on leases of the gold are larger than any physical gold on hand anywhere in the world.
You want to audit something audit all paper gold ownership claims ties to physical gold. That is where the problem most likely is to be located.
Reminds me of those; "buy gold now", commericials. Get the certificate of ownership and that's it.
