A motion was put forward in Texas to get their gold back physically from the Federal Reserve and store it in a bank in Texas.

$1 billion in gold bars is owned by the University of Texas.

Should be an interesting story to follow if nothing else.

Zero Hedge | On a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero
Rep. Giovanni Capriglione has a bill in play that would move the state’s gold from New York (where its under the “safekeeping” of the ultra shady Federal Reserve) to a depository within the state of Texas itself.

Freshman Rep. Giovanni Capriglione, R-Southlake, is carrying a bill that would establish the Texas Bullion Depository, a secure state-based bank to house $1 billion worth of gold bars owned by the University of Texas Investment Management Co., or UTIMCO, and stored by the Federal Reserve.

That gold is long gone, Texas should have insured it against theft.

Wait!

No, that wouldn't have worked, either.

And of the effectiveness of gold standards what does this say? Let the yellow metal do its work and go to sleep? I would rather have Smaug audit a fiat money system over a sleepy trust in gold.

Well, certainly not the mercury addled.

Congress created the Fed.

Good thing it was only by statute, though.

I'd hate to think how bad it would be if the Fed were Constitutional.

Andrew Jackson warned us and fought physically against, what is happening now.
A Progressive Congress filled with bankers and big money Rockefeller's, created the fed.(remember Fascism was the rage in Europe)

It will take a Constitutional Conservative Congress to end it.

Germany wants theirs back too...... I agree with you it's all long gone....... My best guess is what we seldom get to see is lead bricks with a few mils of gold on them. Gold clad leaden bricks.........

I think it was a year or two ago India was taken with the same ploy, and got gold clad lead bricks.

I think a public money system might be necessary, but how to make it a distributed one with citizen oversight? The FED as is has destroyed state power.

We(our government) gave China all our Gold Reserves. We(our government) have now let them mine minerals here, free of charge.

There is nothing at Fort Knox. Nothing.

Fiat money is coming to an end.
