This should escalate the combat over there. I actually didn't think it was possible for the Palestinians to shoot down a F-16. They must have upgraded their weapons or got their hands on Heat Seeking Missiles. I am looking for more mainstream sources but for now, this is all I can find..infowars.com/palestinians-shoot-down-israeli-f-16-fighter-jet-in-gaza/
I can't find any more about this. So I assume that it is not true.
Add the http. I am new so it wont let me post the whole link. Here you ago...........latimes.com/news/world/worldnow/la-fg-wn-rockets-lands-near-jerusalem-20121116,0,1117397.story#tugs_story_display

The link you gave tells me about the rockets that landed near Jerusalem. It mentions in the 5th or 6th paragraph: "Hamas also claimed it shot down an Israeli aircraft Friday evening, though Israeli military officials would not comment on the report." Since the article has a time of 8:25AM PST today (which was hours ago) and I can't find any further mention of this anywhere else, again I would assume that it isn't true.

Well Israel isn't confirming that the plane was not shot down either. We will just have to wait and see.
israel withdrew from gazza but control all access points ( land , sea and air ) in and out of it , the place is effectivley the worlds largest prison
After Israel withdrew Rafah which was on the border with Egypt and Gaza was opened. However Israel monitored the border to ensure that missiles would not enter Gaza. The activity was restricted when Hamas came into power.
However even with the blockade no one was starving in Gaza.
Hamas officials concede that the blockade has not caused a humanitarian crisis in its classic sense.
"There is no starvation in Gaza," said Khalil Hamada, a senior official at Hamas's ministry of justice. "No-one has died of hunger.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...y-is-Gaza.html
Hamas has members that were responsible for suicidal bombings against Israeli civilians in the 1990s and early 2000 so that is one of the reasons why Israel would not recognise Hamas.
In addition Hamas is opposed to the 2 state solution and was against the 2 state solution with the Oslo accords of the 1990s. They have refused to negotiate to Israel.
Yet Hamas has common links to the ruling Egyptian political party "Muslim Brotherhood" and it appears Egypt goal is to keep the borders with Egypt and Gaza open.
In addition Qutar where its foreign minister visited Gaza just prior to the war has promised a huge amount of Aid to Gaza before the recent war.
These muslims seem to like getting their asses kicked. Israel just needs to roll in, and solve the problem permanently. Getting old now.
