Should be renamed the Food Stamp Bill really.
And? Most people on food stamps need food stamps. Most of the companies earning $ from the subsidies are already profitable w/o the subsidies and usually they're going to massive agri-businesses

$82 Billion: How Do Liberals Expect To Raise the Remaining $1,000,000,000,000 Deficit?
Then I'd go back to those tax-rates that Saint Reagan passed, 50% top rate and 28% capital gains. You know, the rates that existed when Republicans claimed there was huge economic expansion.

But the reality is that returning the nation to full employment would raise $500 billion a year.

That's not including Obamacare, which is expected to add hundreds of billions to the deficit as well.

I'm at a complete loss as to how liberals and Democrats can defend (vote for) these very simple arithmatical policies that virtually ensure that the United States will experience financial destruction while simultaneously pushing back on cost-saving policies that will actully fix the problem.

America VOTED for this ****? Is America really this ignorant??
Indeed America is that ignorant. It is shocking that anyone with half a brain could have voted for Obama again, yet it happened.

Libs cannot show us how the budget woes will be answered, as those answers involve solutions which will enrage the dependent class. One cannot "tax the rich" out of this problem.

We must take heart and be positive. The fiscal death of America was going to happen sooner or later, and Obama has simply accelerated the process. The nation that rises from the ashes of fiscal disaster will be a better one. In that way, Obama will certainly lead to a better America.

What is shocking is the republicans put up a financial insider to run against him after his likes looted and destroyed this country. Its really hard to comprehend that level of stupidity except when you realize that Americans can't help but elect one of two unelectable candidates because they refuse to vote for anything but welfare democrats or crony republicans.

So your opinion is that four years of failure under Barack Obama.... a guy with zero experience at anything meaningful...... is a better option than giving someone with exceedingly more business and financial experience a shot at righting the ship? The lesser of two evils didn't even prevail in this scenario. That's indicative of how ****ed up America really is. If you voted for Obama, then you're part of the problem.

Is there any chance you might explain why you support these policies in light of the very serious financial situation we are in?
I'm a liberal and therefore support a team effort at running the country, social programs in my view benefit many who may require assistance.
I'm sure President Obama is well aware of the deficit and through many cut backs tax increases and entitlement reforms an impact on that deficit may be achieved.
Raising taxes a few % points seems to be a sticking point for many however that deficit was accrued by the government by spending much of it on Social programs, infra structure, military, healthcare and other programs that benefited all of us,now through tax hikes its time to pay for those benefits we all benefited from, raising taxes by a few % points shouldnt break the bank for most people and should be looked at as one of the measures that will help the country bring down its debt.

I think Obama will push for higher taxes next year which will include a wealth tax on 401's, IRA's.

ENSLAVING everyone who makes over $250K per year only generates $900 billion. The "tax the rich" mantra of Obama does NOTHING.

So talking about certain tax rates from the past is simply re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. If anyone was serious about the debt, they would-

1. initiate a 15% VAT
2. cut entitlements 20% across the board
3. intitiate a balanced budget amendment
4. ear mark 10% of annual revenues for debt reduction to approach 25% GDP

Get real- no politician will do what is necessary. I say we fully support Obama's plans and allow him to destroy the nation and get it over with quickly, such that componants can reform.

Even more important, do liberals understand why the argument for higher income taxes on those making $250K and above is wholly and completely irrelevant compared to the outstanding trillion dollar deficit?

$82B is enough money to pay the interest on the national debt for 8 days.

Does this even register? Or are you just happy that Barack Obama won the election and everything else is irrelevant?
Whether you agree with the premise or not -It was never about the Math- It was Barack Obama and his progressive friends touting "fairness" . Would not matter if the revenue increase was $200 or $200,000,000,000 its about "FAIRNESS".

That pretty much sums it up.
