Quick question conservatives, how does depressing consumer spending and demand for goods and services equate to job growth?

If you cut one trillion from the budget to balance the budget we would go into a depression, not a recession. Conservatives think Herbert Hoover's economic theory was the right way to go.

Consumer spending, demand for goods and services, and job growth have nothing to do with the economy?

Read the post I was replying to. The purpose of cutting federal spending was not about increasing the nation's economy. It was to set a budget for the federal government which is trillions of dollars in debt from out of control spending by members of both political parties.

And there are not currently enough drivers to meet the growing need.

What do trucks and forklifts move around? They move product. If you send the economy into a recession, you don't need as many people moving those goods around. Less jobs.
