You know why I own an AR 15 with a 30 rd magazine? The answer is pretty simple....BECAUSE I CAN, it's my Right. STANDARD capacity, 30 rd magazines { not high capacity magazines ] have several valid uses. They are great for competition, and some use them for self defense purposes. They would be especially useful in a situation where there were multiple attackers. I use a 12 ga. for self defense purposes, but hey, to each their own. I have no right to tell someone else that they don't need a gun with thirty rd's in it for self defense, and neither do you.
There are a few locations around me that limit hunting magazines so I have a few 5 round mags in different calibers.

I also have some HIGH capacity mags. Sometimes 30 isn't enough so I have 40 round mags. Not many since they don't fit in mag holders for my belt or chest rig.

there was another shooting at a school, and I thought, oh brother, here go the anti gun people again, they just don't get it....
maybe, just maybe this has something to do with poor parenting?

When I was growing up, we knew not to dare touch our dad's guns? And we never did! But, a lot of people in this world today, do not know how to parent.

Gun control is not going to stop anything, if anything, it will provide a lucrative business for the criminals, but no one wants to acknowlege that?

when it comes down to the wire and you only include the shootings that ended in the murder of another in the commission of a crime, then you might find that our numbers are quite low. in fact when you count them up correctly, considering the amount of firearms in the USA, we should have a lower gun murder rate than most other countries on the planet.

I would feel much safer knowing that practically anyone off of the street could go into a Walmart and purchase an Uzi or a Tec9.

I would too. The Tec 9 in particular is a crude, cheap, firearm that jams and does not work with modern hollowpoint ammo. If I had to be shot at, I'd rather my assailant had a Tec 9 than, say, a S&W .38 revolver
