Just because someone is in the minority, we don't need to protect their rights???!!!

Let me ask you this. If someone uses this list to find out where to steal guns and those weapons are used in the next massacre what's your thoughts on that?

Suppose the next Adam Lanza who was't able to legally purchase a firearm needs to find a place to obtain weapons, this list is certainly the ideal place to start isn't it?

You can do that without a list, just go into any suburban neighborhood during work hours when the entire neighborhood is at work and go looking for guns.

That's not what I asked and is a lame argument. They don't need to do that in NY, they just go to house that is on the list. If someone goes to house on this list and steals a gun and kills someone with it this newspaper has blood on it's hands.

Can you give me a single valid reason why this information should be public?

The best question.

And I say this as someone who will never own a gun.

Better yet why not look a little deeper into the usefulness of such drugs and the doctors that prescribe them????
Suicide ideation is common symptom of a diagnosis that begets the SSRI prescription. There's a chicken/egg thing going on here. The warning protects the manufacturer from potential liability. I am unaware that use of such medications increases the potential for violence.

And the people that get them illegally won't be on this list....because nobody will know they have them.

For guns in many states that is not public information, matter of fact there was a bill in NY that would have prevented this that is supposed to come up again. If the result of any forced registration will be that information being public gun owners need to fight it tooth and nail.

Have they taken account that once they publish the names of registered gun owners in all of New York state that they will let burglars, rapists and murderers know the addresses of non gun owners? Sure they have. Do they care? Absolutely not. Publishing the names and addresses of gun owners is the equivalent of what they do to Sex Offenders. This is wrong and this will severely backfire on them.
Is carry permit public information, or is the paper getting the information.
