If I recall correctly, one can be unlisted in a phne book if they choose. These people were not given an option to remain anonymous, the newspaper just did it. Then, they were surprised at the backlash and apparently were fearful, so they hired ARMED GUARDS to guard their building... buncha hypocrites.
I like my privacy and I respect other people's privacy which is why I don't give out my name and I don't support squirrely newspapers printing the names and addresses of people on a particular list. Since you seem not to have an issue with the latter, you shouldn't take umbrage to revealing your own personal information for the world to see.
Are phone books unethical and dangerous? They list every resident by name and address.
No, they list every resident by name and address who have chosen to be included. Many people are unlisted. Secondly, I think we can both agree that publishing the names and addresses of those who own guns is a danger to gun owners and non-gun owners alike. Wee bit different than a phone book.
No and urbanlife knows that. People who support papers like the Journal News will not give an inch on the issue. I do not own guns and I support stringent gun laws BUT I am not so blind or partisan to ignore the ramifications of publishing people's names and addresses of a certain group. It is completely unethical, dangerous and intimidating.

Actually I will bet you your information is on the internet. Ever buy anything online or pay a bill online? Ever had a registered phone line or an internet connection. If so, then your information is already online.

would it of been equally dangerous had the posted the names and addresses of everyone who owns a fishing license or a drivers license?
