I didn't leave the GOP.

They left me behind way back in 2003 and they've been pickling up speed in the wrong direction ever since.

The best part is, I'm an angry old white guy. The exact one they think they have wrapped up tight. I even got a nice solicitation letter from that wimp-boy Reince Priebus last fall, asking for more contributions. I'm still on their list because I voted GOP since Nixon and contributed to the RNC up until 2000.

That's when they made it clear that they were no longer rational. They're hostile to science, workers, and fiscal responsibility. They start and mismanage idiotically conceived middle east wars. They offer fatally flawed economic policies. They're simply no longer working for our nation's best interests.

You're darn right I'm angry.

Yeah, because GOP officials really, truly, deeply and sincerely care that when you pull the lever for them, you're pouting and muttering "libertarian!" under your breath.

Can you say Red Herring???
I can say red herring because that is all your thread is is a red herring. You have left the GOP, but you are still voting Republican means you have never left the GOP.

Oh and there is no T in enough?

Nixon was too the left of Obama, so that is hardly a point in your favor. Supported a national ban on handguns, created the EPA, DEA, Amtrak, etc.

Did you seriously vote for Reagan? I doubt it, but I'm willing to be proved wrong here. It's just that I've seen too many liberals who claim to have been Republicans but are basically 'seminar callers.'

For a conservative who has grown tired of the neo-con stuff, the GOP spending binge of 2000-2006, or the antics of John Boehner, the natural response would seem to be to reform the party from within. If your response is to join the Democrats, it does not quite compute.

This.^^^ We need Rand Paul in the White House. Unfortunately, the American people would rather have their "goodies" from Daddy Obama than have someone in the White House who will get this country back on the right track.

No thank you, I never want to see a nutjob like Rand Paul in the White House, he would be worse than his dad.

There isn't even been an election, so to say I am still voting Republican is speculative. I will vote for Republicans, when appropriate, but when it is a squish like McCain, I will abstain on that office.

Also, I will no longer donate. Now, for me that isn't a huge thing, no more than $10K a year between candidates and the RNC, but if enough of us stop, they might get the message.

And yes, I make a lot of typos.

You have been brilliant in one regards, spelling. Big yourself a dung-colored star for your keyboard.

When Bush Senior got blindsided by the DemocRATS, they still didn't learn.

They may never learn, and under one-party, DemocRAT rule, there is no hope for the USA.
Yup. You better leave while the gettin' is still good. And don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya.
