So where is the lie? Did you read the link? I'll help you with the FBI stats;

Rifles 323
Clubs, hammers, etc: 496

FBI — Expanded Homicide Data Table 11

Grow up and admit you made a foolish accusation.
Since some people either can't or won't take the time to simply click a link before arguing against the information provided therein, maybe we can get them to look at a picture instead:

It's sad that this is what it takes for people to debate honestly. I get that some people don't like Fox, and to that I say, "Whatever," but to debate against Fox when the source data is presented directly from the law enforcement agency itself is about as childish as it gets, and about the furthest from honesty that one can get.

It's truly sad that "debate" (if your definition is loose enough to actually call it that) has come down to picture books.

The error is that the OP originally claimed more deaths from hammers than GUNS, not merely rifles - a dishonest claim pointed out quickly in the thread but you seem to have missed it.

This article states "For example, in 2011, there was 323 murders committed with a rifle but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs."

Read the actual stats from FBI...
FBI — Table 20

Total murders 21,142
Total firearms 14,286
Handguns 10,346
Rifles 548
Shotguns 594
Firearms (type unknown) 2,798
Knives or cutting instruments 2,828
Other weapons 2,787
Hands, fists, feet, etc.2 1,241

Stop whistling dixies!!
You really might want to work on your math skills. Your chart when downloaded to excel shows 323 with rifles, 356 shotguns, 1694 with knifes and 728 with hands, fists, feet, etc.

I realize most liberals aren't real good with math...but come on, autosumming in Excel isn't exactly difficult.

Since we're looking at a subset of firearms shouldn't we also look at a subset of hammers?
Maybe murders committed with sledge hammers, or ball peen hammers?

It depends. Are there some mindless morons that call black hammers assault weapons? Ball peens "weapons of choice of criminals"?

I'll explain it to you. The simple minded in this country have focused on rifles, specially black semi-autos as targets to ban, simply because they look scary, not because they have any correlation to crime rates. The OP is simply supplying some data (which I realize anti-gun types also consider "scary") in order to put things in perspective.

Makes calls for semi-auto rifle restrictions look pretty moronic, doesn't it?
