This is America. There is no excuse for being poor here. The only thing standing in your way is a government that always gets paid first with every dollar you earn.
Yeah how dare people who can't afford food eat, they should all starve right ? Your a truly compassionate human being And if your going to complain about people on food stamps why not complain about the trillions this country funnels into the pockets of big corporations and defense contractors ? But that's right kill the poor, starve the poor that's alright but wowww is me if anyone deprives the rich of another 2 million though right ?

Really? The biggest employer in America pays their employees so little that a full-time employee still qualifies for gov't assistance.

Yes. EVERYONE can be rich in America, because it's not like low wage workers aren't a mainstay of the economy or anything.
Face it: Capitalism NEEDS a poor/underclass. You can't escape it. So, because we socialize business profits in this country, the taxpayer has to help support the citizenry that finds themselves cogs at the bottom of the capitalist machine.
It's a trade off. You cannot have one without the other.

Quote:
a federal audit revealed last year that many who don’t qualify for food stamps receive them under a special “broad-based” eligibility program that disregards income and asset requirements
I am sure this will double with all the new illegals Obama wants to make citizens.
Democrats must be applauding themselves. Tax the rich & high income earners more to support more takers & non citizens.
When you consider the military spent $680 billion, this number for feeding HUNGRY people kinda disppears doesn't it?. I'll tell you what. Pay for food stamps from savings from the OBSENE military Industrial complex that is killing the USA.
In fiscal year 2010, GAO estimates that 2.6 percent (473,000) of households that
received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits would not
have been eligible for the program without broad-based categorical eligibility
(BBCE) because their incomes were over the federal SNAP eligibility limits. The
characteristics of these households were generally similar to other SNAP
households, although they were more likely to work or receive unemployment
benefits. BBCE removes asset limits in most states, and while reliable data on
participants’ assets are not available, other data suggest few likely had assets
over these limits
2.6% fit that complaint, and they added less than 1% to the SNAP budget.

Besides, all that money goes right back into local jobs & businesses, grocers, food marts, taxes, etc.... which is sure way the hell better than supporting another tax break for wealthy folks... which they can stash in the Caymans or wherever!
