2.) Why are you paying for your daughter's college? She's 18. She should have gotten a full right on her merit alone. If not, let her pay for it through loans and working. You are enabling her too much.
3.) Your mortgage? Why are you struggling to pay a mortgage? You probably couldn't afford it in the first place.
4.) If someone on welfare eats better than you, you have made poor life choices.
5.) Sad stories? We don't want to hear your sad stories of people on welfare eating better than you.
6.) If you are struggling so bad, maybe you should work harder at your job for the big promotion instead of wasting time posting thread after thread on P&OC. Those TPS reports don't get filled out themselves.

A mortgage includes taxes and also homeowners insurance which goes up because of Obama. Food is going to continue to rise and so will gas. The people who work for a living have to pay for all the extras including housing, health insurance, food , gas and any other thing that comes down the pike and it is all rising quickly.
All that is covered by Obama. Life is good for those who sit watching tv as they don't have to go to work for a living.
Then there are the retired ones who can't make any money on their savings because CD's and Retirement accounts give notihng back at all. One year CD pays if you are lucky to find someone to pay one quarter of one percent today.

People receiving food stamps are not paying for their childs college. Food stamp rules are strict & alot of people dont qualify. My 80+ yr old neighbor on social security is receiving only $16.00 month in food stamps. NO one should go hungry & i mean NO one.

That's true. Prices have been rising since the Romans. So it's a good bet this trend will continue. But they're not rising quickly and Obama doesn't dictate food prices nor gasoline prices.

that post (the one you were responding to) was an example of the right-wing alternate universe, where poor people live in the lap of luxury, don't work, and watch TV all day. Don't even bother to influence them with facts, such as most getting public benefits work -- just earn too little. The ultra-right are not influenced by information that counters their ideology. Their ideology is a religion that is based in faith in a view of the world that doesn't exist.

As my wife and I struggle to pay the monthly mortgage and our daughter's college, I'm left wondering why others don't have to be responsible for their own lives.
Why are you struggling? If one wishes to pay for college for a child, it should have been money that has been saved since their birth.
If you can't , and do not earn enough to do so, loans , grants, scholarships, all are available.

I was at the supermarket this past weekend, and was in line behind two full shopping carts full of racks of ribs, tenderloins, pork chops, soda, a ton of junk food, ribeyes, and a tons of other stuff totaling out to over $800. I think comparing yourself to a family of 6 living on 30K a year take home is a great example of comparing 3 people to 6.

I think we can ask the Bible on this. Conservative people usually like Jesus stuff, so this should be fun. (You said $800 dollars, the chart on page two shows that is a family of at least 6....or more.)

A small cabal of bankers collects $100 billions +/year in fictitious interest payments (on the money they pulled from their arses to loan to big bad government) and they eat rather really, really, really well. Yet, TS is obsessing about Frankenstein food stuff that EBT can buy. It's debatable whether or not EBT card holders could survive without EBT. But bankers could survive quite nicely without $100 billion$+ in handouts each year. Where is your logic? And $100 billions are only federal interest payments. Your mortgage and car loans are also funded by pulling fresh money from thin air. There is small group of very deserving individuals (true leech class) that collect hundreds of billions for doing nothing, yet it's EBT card holders who ate everybody's cake.
