When the Senators from the coastal states get hit with a hurricane, the ones in the mid-section get another batch of tornadoes; you can bet they will have their grubby hands out to the Feds for help!

Some of those congressmen from the mid-west were more than happy to accept aid when the Mississippi River overflowed a few years back, Paul Ryan loved FEMA when his district flooded but different today.
I am sure if you read the whole bill, the Dems have tons of "pork" in it!!! So the GOP is for the help, but not all the extra crap the Dems throw in!!!! It works like this on lots of bills!
Lets be honest, the Democrats had to probably add a bunch of pork to it to get a number of Republicans to vote yes.
Isn't the northeast some of the wealthiest areas in the country? It is not like new Orleans.
Where are the state funds for this? Was it used in the study to ban larger then 16 oz sodas?

Thats the point - NJ is a rich state but the devastation was so extreme that Christie, who just a week earlier was screaming against the "Feds/government" with Romney was shocked and slumped down to his knees after seeing his dear state's resources exhausted in record time.
Rubio voted no? That is messed up, how many times has the government helped that state after every damn hurricane that hits Florida. Hopefully someone remembers that when Rubio has his hand out at the next hurricane season.
There was good reason to vote against it, in the bill was billions of dollars of pork and the cost of the bill should have been off set with cuts.
OK, when Ohio experiences massive flooding or prolonged drought or some other natural disaster we will disallow funding for Ohio, thereby instituting the cuts you long for.
