And you present another wonderful example of how Liberal Truth is an oxymoron.

You're getting really good at conjuring up Straw Men....how fast can you do it now? 3 hours?

Nobody said people who make less than $20/hour are losers.

The average hourly wage shows what people can achieve.....if they want to achieve.

There is no need to make this thread complicated because its simple...really.

Anyone believing that $23 dollar an hour jobs are all over the place even with some form of advanced training is a damn fool. That's simply not the case.

Here in Arizona, that wage is SKY HIGH even for well trained techs. Nurses, the 4 year type, make on average about $25 an hour here, and I know a few that barely make $20. Most licensed plumbers in my county make $15-$18 per hour.

The OP doesn't live in the real world.

You made an assertion without actually proving anything.

No...it doesn't prove that. It doesn't prove anything except that $23 bucks an hour is the average wage. So what? What does that have to do with achievement?

You guys are reading a lot into a meaningless statistic.

What's that you say, I should have saved for retirement? How much do you realistically expect people to save on a $15K income?

so let's see if I get this straight

your 50 something...and supposedly UNSKILLED (at 50...really?????)

you settle for a 15k a year job

save NOTHING

and then plan on getting a 2/3 pension when you retire (900/month is over 10k a year )

btw your contributions to ss 6%...6% of 15k is 900 A YEAR

so you think it good that you contribut 900 a year (and your employeer matches it) for you to get 900/month????? how liberal of you

There is absolutely NO REASON why the average worker in the United States cannot live off of these wages.

In fact, with these wages, and when personal responsibility is factored into the equation, there's absolutely no reason for single-parent families, children born out of wedlock, Medicaid, WIC, Welfare, or Food Stamps.

The AVERAGE worker makes $49,462 per year and yet we have liberals belly-aching over minimum wage and people barely able to make ends meet???? Who's fault is that?!

Get off your lazy asses and DO SOMETHING with your unproductive lives! There's money to be made out there!

That is a LIE. I do not even see jobs here in Chicago that pay that much unless they are union jobs (mine) or city jobs. Nobody else in the private sector makes that.
