I agree on this point. I heard earlier on CNN his friend being interviewed and how he talked the PTSD soldier into going to the firing range to blow off steam. I thought, wth? Blow off steam from PTSD by shooting at the fire range? That doesn't compute.
Several people don't get it, but here's the deal: shooting is very much about exercising self-control and "muscle memory" training... basically like the martial arts.
Doing something that requires plenty of concentration and personal discipline is a great way to fight against the mental chaos and damage to one's self esteem caused by PTSD.
Still, the suspect had bigger issues than just PTSD... not to mention it was severely low-class for the SEAL to brag about how many people he's killed and revel so much in his "glory days".
That's just something a fighter should keep to himself.

I've heard that BS line more then I care to the last few days.
When I heard of this news I had the exact same thought. The guy was not a hero, just a hired killer, imo.
And how the hell did some vet with PTSD get the drop on this highly trained sniper and his friend ? Doesn't make sense.
Ambush. Back turned, a moment of inattention, possibly a concealed pocket pistol (they said it was small caliber). It's not difficult to harm someone if you catch them off guard.
