Bad guys and no gun (and in the example above you've left your cell phone in the car). What's the plan?
It's still the same old, same old stuff with you folks.

Protecting yourselves from each other was precisely the type of country your framers were trying to avoid otherwise why all the other considerations within the constitution?

Now; given that the likelyhood of me being cranked while sitting in my living room is about on a par with sliding off into the Pacific Ocean with the State of California; my plan is to prepare in exactly the same fashion. I will spend my time in far more productive fashion going about my daily life without burdening my brain with nonsense like sitting in front of my T.V. with my family at my side with my Colt Defender 45 ACP in my lap with one up the spout and the safety off.

All the guns in the world aren't going to protect you from that unforeseen threat from another human being in an instants notice unless you are content to add the thing like another appendage to the end of your arm. Go ahead and keep up the lobbying for the manufacturers though; they're feeling your love.

Now; as to forming a resistance to a tyrannical government. It has been shown time and time again that in order to bring far more powerful entities to heel all you need do is have the ability to wage a campaign of costly annoyance against it. That feature can involve many things other than your personal bang-bangs in your gun safe.
