As long as we can elect PR's...principled conservatives, I think we beat back this socialist/communist Armageddon. Speaking as a former democrat, this current democrat party is one I don't recognize. I say former because when I noticed the CPUSA coming out for my former party.....light went on. The republicans have a lot of problems.....so I now consider myself a conservative, but will vote republican until the democrats are not associated with communists. I'm old, been there, done that, socialism and communism never work. DHS is an embarrassment and we should not comply. Granny Will Not Comply!
Well you are not correctly defining illegal search and seizure. First, any person entering our country without permission is illegal and a crime by itself, thus voiding the search and seizure privilege. Second, muling drugs and weapons that are easily seen invokes probable cause.
Talk to the GOP, they want more border security as part of the immigration bill, start writing your congressmen now. The same people that are complaining about DHS will be the first to complain about a terrorist coming into the country, can't have it both ways.
Funny how the same people that have an issue with DHS take absolutely no issue with keeping people contained on an offshore island called Guantanamo for the rest of their lives without a trial.
Not that I like customs agents more than the next guy (who does?), but haven't they pretty much been allowed to rifle though your stuff on a whim since time immemorial?
Still, warms the heart to see who's fighting the good fight:
Quote:
Civil rights groups like the American Civil Liberties Union suggest that “reasonable suspicion” should be the rule, at a minimum, despite that being a lower standard than required by the Fourth Amendment.
“There should be a reasonable, articulate reason why the search of our electronic devices could lead to evidence of a crime,” Catherine Crump, an ACLU staff attorney, said in a telephone interview. “That’s a low threshold.”

They are Muslims with brown skin, a lot of right wingers would hardly even consider them people, just like Latinos, African Americans and the 47%.

Well considering the Bush administration and the GOP-controlled House and Senate passed the Patriot Act and created Homeland Insecurity, you'd be better off voting Libertarian.
