Actually, if you knew me at all, you would not have been so inaccurate in your post, since I was born and raised in Minnesota, till I was 27.

I know what America's obsession about guns and violence is all about; even Hollywood's crap is overflowing into Italy here, and it's pathetic. Americans seem nothing more than barbarians. Not all, of course. But the ones who speak for peace are generally pushed aside.

BTW, no one's protecting Italy because there's no boogeyman to be protected from in the first place. That's a purely american paranoia. You can see it in the stockpiling of weapons and ammo that's going on in the US right now.

You do realize that Mexico's laws concerning individual gun ownership are draconian, private ownership is restricted to the point that it's nearly non-existent. If the US or Mexico has such a problem with violence that everyone needs a gun, there's something seriously wrong with society. Maybe they need to learn something from more peaceful countries..

Personally, I have no desire to live somewhere where guns are so prevalent and everyone's afraid of their neighbor. No need waving the flag, I wouldn't want to be there anyway..

If people can't get along without needing to shoot each other up, then they need to go back to pre-school and learn how to get along. Period.
