The left LOVES Clinton, despite his destruction of the American manufacturing sector.

It's hard to fault Clinton on the trade policies. By far the biggest lobbyists and beneficiaries of NAFTA and the China trade were US corporations, i.e. Big Business, which donate to Republicans over Democrats by a factor of about 3-1.

Talk about not great by any measure

One important difference between Clinton and Bush II is that Bush was credited with much of Clinton's anti-American activities and the low-information types (to include all liberals) never questioned it.

Bush didn't deregulate banks or require the GSEs bundle CRA loans.

Bush didn't leave CDOs unregulated on the advice of Summers and Rubin.

Without Clinton, there is no financial meltdown in 2008.

Bush also didn't advocate for and then sign the 2000 China Trade Act.

Bush also didn't cast the deciding vote in favor of NAFTA.

That was Gore.

Then Clinton signed it.

If the factory you worked at moved to Mexico, thank Clinton.

If you lost your manufacturing job in 2007 and then your house in 2009, thank Clinton.

If you sacrificed for years and years to make your mortgage payments only to find yourself still owing many times your home's collapsing market value in 2010, thank Clinton.

Thank him for joining hands with the biggest corporate whores in both parties to negotiate you out of a job and deregulate you out of a home.

What Bush is guilty of is not doing more to undo what Clinton did.

Do you think Bill Clinton was the last great President the USA had?

Clinton was not a great President, so the question is ridiculous.

I hate to let facts get in the way of a perfectly loony rant, BUT:

There was no Gore deciding vote on NAFTA. In the House: 132 GOP for, 43 against; Dem: 102 for, 156 against.
Senate: 34 GOP supporters, 27 Dems.

For the China Trade Act: GOP: 164 for, 57 against; Dem: 72 for, 137 against. Senate: GOP: 46 yea, 8 nay; Dem: 37 yea, 7 nay.

Just goes to show, if you lost your manufacturing job because your factory moved to Mexico or China, thank the GOP.

Newt Gingrich led Clinton around by the nose. The success of the Clinton administration is a direct result of the guidance of the Speaker of the House.

A great president has true personal integrity, character and honor. Clinton didn't, neither does Obama.

The last two good/great Presidents of the United States who exercised the real authority of the office in their own persons were General Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower and John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

The day J.F.K. was killed the office was effectively turned into an empty suit who does the bidding of "them" or the powers that be. Both President Eisenhower and President Kennedy made speeches warning the American public about our current predicament.
