I watched a little bit of Chris Wallace's interview with Mitt Romney this morning and he brought up a good point. As long as Obama is out bashing the GOP, he can't be trying to work with them behind closed doors....there would be no trust to negotiate with. You can't bash the Nguyen before and then try and work with them the next morning. Which brings up question as to whether he plans doing anything for the next two except campaign against the GOP in an attempt to win the house in 2014. That makes complete sense to me but, annoys me to no end wasting the next two years like that. We elect officials to work together and get things accomplished, not to campaign for the next election. Of course they're all going to continue campaigning after they've won and that's OK as long as they also work together to get things accomplished.

It's not one sided. Republicans bash Obama daily -and not just his policies but also his motivations and character.

He a community organizer, nothing more. This is all he has ever known. He has never had to lead a group of people to do something positive. Community organizers twist arms to try and get what they want. They use threats. It works in Chicago but as he is finding out, not so well in other places.

Romney would have been so much better than Obama. I still feel ashamed at how stupid many in this country are to vote for Obama again. He knows nothing about the economy or leadership. Romney had his faults but there is no doubt he was better suited to actually LEAD and deal with the economy.

Exactly.

Obama tried to work with Republicans. They repaid him by screaming about socialism and Marxism and accusing him of hating those who work. They set out to destroy him before he ever even took office. He backed their old healthcare ideas, and was labeled a Marxist. He backed some of their own bills, so they voted against things that they had proposed.

When playing nice has failed, it's time to change strategies.

Romney would have been no different. Right now we would be fighting his efforts to increase troops in Iraq. The Dems would be insisting on cuts to defense (as opposed to arguing today how bad they are) for any deal to get done and Romney would be arguing how bad that would be.

For the past several years, the Pubs have blocked practically everything the president has tried to do.

My tiny little violin isn't playing sympathetic tunes for the GOP. All of these fiscal "crises" have been manufactured by the Pubs specifically to make economic recovery less effective in hopes that it would cast Obama in an unfavorable light. After decades of voting Republican, I now recognize the hazard they and their agenda pose to our nation and I fully support the president's actions.

Agreed, Obama cannot insult, deride and break his agreements with Republicans one week, and then expect them to welcome him with open arms to negotiations the next week.

Trying to work with a group is not generally considered to be dictating terms to them.

Obama has made it clear that he will only support ideas that come from him, regardless of their worth.

Those that make statements such as the one quoted have truly bought into the lying BS presented by Obama and his crew.

You think Romney was better suited to lead the Dems in Congress? LOL No one can lead people who refuse to be lead.
