What the Democrat Party (Progressive Party) has become is clearly manifested in that now infamous phrase, "You didn't build that!" Barack Obama, Elizabeth Warren, and no doubt many others within the Party, staunchly believe in this destructive philosophy (collectivism), a cancer, which slowly progresses toward the ultimate destruction of individualism, and liberty, on which they depend for the largesse that finances their Utopian dream.

As the mocking refrain: "You didn't build that" has travelled like lightning throughout the land as a testament to the people's realization that our overlords have lost touch with the Founders' vision, how quickly the progressives claim the bounty of an economic powerhouse they did not labor to build.

The writer of the above article perfectly articulates the nature of the enemy. How many times in human history must we repeat that which does not work?

Strawman fallacy. I mean your creating a fictional person to attack. I am postive that there are policies here that deserve to be taken down and looked at

Yet this is why the Republicans lost the election so soundly. No one believes in this propaganda. For instance "You didn't build that" when listened to incontext talks about the infrastructure needed to support business

You can open the mcdonalds, sure. . but you "didn't build" the road to that mcdonalds, the currency the mcdonalds uses, etc.

If you can't attack the real issues, and insist on fighting ghosts, than mainstream america will continue to walk away. They smell bull****, apparently.

Yes, you didn't build the public infrastructure that is structure to our economy. Paid for by taxes. This isn't collectivism, this is reality. It's not destruction of liberty to build roads, or water pipes, or schools. A country needs that infrastructure to function in any capacity.

Even implying it is an evil cancer is pure and utter insanity, and this twisting of words has been disproved repeatedly. Still believing this propaganda shows a willful ignorance and ease of being led by slogans that's sad and disturbing.

There is the most obscene statement. You consider your enemy more then half the country, and are willing to dehumanize them to the point where you are willing to go to war. Which is how atrocities and civil wars get their start.

It unleashed self-interest in a way that optimized human excellence and efficiency and allowed the resulting public coffers to be filled and in turn utilized for the common weal.

Yep...that about sums it up. Except one thing; what laissez-faire "firewall" is he writing of? When was there a "firewall" separating the the two "spheres of life" mentioned?[/LEFT]

That's right..you put in the effort, time, money, planning and hard work. If you show a profit we're gonna want credit.
But if you show a loss then you're on your own.

"You didn't build that" only applies if there's money to be taken from you.....

Those roads were built 80 years ago because the government knew you'd be coming along to open up your shop.

You get to write off part of a business loss - form 1045?? - I think it has something to do with customers not paying.

You're not on your own... oh, you're welcome.

What some (liberal) people tend to not want to think about is this:

The government did not build that either.

They inserted themselves into the private sector as a moderator and a method to collect even more money.

The government is not a person, it builds nothing.

The money to pay for the infrastructure came from taxes (us). The work was done by real people (us). The perceived need for these services was to serve the people (us). All that the government does is to stand in the way for the most part of what is proposed or cause the building of things that are not wanted or desired (bridge to nowhere in Alaska, etc).

The tremendous ego in the statement by Oblamea clearly shows how little he understands that the is supposed to be serving the people (us), not the other way around.

The backlash to Obama on this stupid statement was huge from business owners. The roads would have been built whether or not one business was built because we are not a third world country. . . .yet.

As has been stated numerous times in other threads ad nauseum, Obama does not pay or contribute or even take an interest in whether a company makes it or not, whether the owner is up 24 hours getting the work done, whether the owner's advertising is working, whether or not the owner makes payroll, whether or not the equipment is maintained, and on and on and on.

Obama backed way off, I still see signs in windows "I Built This," and people still talk about it.

Question: When Obama made that statement, was he talking to all Americans?

Answer: No, he was only talking to certain a segment of Americans, as it happens it was the segment who actually does pay for the roads and the schools.

Followup question: Who was being divisive?

Answer: Obama and every idiot in the nation who thought that what he said was wonderful.

Sure sign of a neo-con is starting a thread with the phrase "Democrat Party". No need to read any more.
