The leftist fanatics have been working for decades to get people used to the idea that what they earned isn't theirs, but can be taken by government for purposes far beyond basic operation of government.

And now we are seeing why.

The ultimate goal is bare, baldfaced theft. And now it's starting.

You voted for it, Europeans.

Americans, are you watching this? You're next.

You know MTAtech, this sequester should have opened your eyes to how the FedGov reacts to cuts. And these are cuts they put on themselves no less.

The FedGov won't cut so their only other option is to tax and find new streams of revenue in the form of fees, penalties, etc.

You think our government is not watching and studying what's going on in other countries ?
The US has history..our government has taken people's assets from banks.

Burying your head in the sand and crying "paranoia" is exactly what a good American is expected to do.
Me..plan for the worst and hope for the best.

When FDR got elected in 1932 rumors of gold seizure started floating around.
I imagine there was plenty of shouts of "paranoia" back then as well as the USG would NEVER take private citizen's gold assets..right ?

No end in sight..spend and tax.

This is right-wing thinking that liberals are the mirror of conservatives. Conservatives believe that what you earn is all yours, so liberals must believe that nothing that you earn belongs to you -- forget that there is no evidence to actually show that liberals believe this.

The Cyprus austerity that is driving this is coming form the conservatives. The liberals rather default on the loans and move from the Euro.

Redstribition means punishing the rich and taking their money to redistribute to others. The very word is class hatred

Let's take a ride on the Tardis and go to planet Reality and actually look at the growth in government spending:

What I see from the above graph is rapid spending during the Bush year which flattened during Obama. Also remember that from 2003 to 2007 the White House and both chambers of Congress were controlled by Republicans. If Republicans are such spending hawks, why didn't they slow or reverse spending when they controlled the entire government?

The Republican pork barrel - August 4, 2005| The Boston Globe:

Quote:
AT $286.4 BILLION, the highway bill just passed by Congress is the most expensive public works legislation in US history. In addition to funding the interstate highway system and other federal transportation programs, it sets a new record for pork-barrel spending, earmarking $24 billion for a staggering 6,376 pet projects, spread among virtually every congressional district in the land. The enormous bill -- 1,752 pages long -- wasn't made public until just before it was brought to a vote, and so, as The New York Times noted, ''it is safe to bet that none of the lawmakers, not even the main authors, had read the entire package."

That didn't stop them from voting for it. It passed 412 to 8 in the House, 91 to 4 in the Senate.

Politics and parties in Europe are not the same as politics and parties in the US.

No country wants to default and being in the EU would drag them all down.
Geeze..Greece has been on the edge of the abyss for over 4 years now and gets their loans each and every time.

I couldn't give a crap what happened in the US for the past 200 years.
TODAY and TOMORROW is what we need to deal with.

I don't play the finger point games. Blame Bush all you want and then feel smug that your party isn't at fault. Live in the past with your charts that end in 2008.

Maybe not banks, but the trillion of $$$$ in our 401Ks look tempting to the spendthrift liberals.

What I'm disproving is your fallacious assertion that Obama has caused growth in spending.

I mean you can believe whatever fantasy and myth you want. That's your right, but don't pawn it off for a minute that it's actually reality. The facts show conclusively that Obama has flattened spending increases.
