Ahh, now it finally comes out. The true beliefs of a liberal mind. They embrace the "unuseful" to get elected but really, in their heart of hearts, think they are useless. Thank you for being honest. Somehow, though, I think your liberal brothers and sisters are going to disown you.

and how are you going to feed your family on $8.00 an hour, regardless of how much the doctors and lawyers make? Oh that's right, you don't live in America...I keep forgetting, obviously you forget as well.

The aim is to push the min wage up, so that 8/hr would become 12.

Yes, that could be workable, not comfortable but possible - let's say 12 X 40hrs = 480/wk

A family could easily live off that, and we would hope to have both adults working as well.

The politicians do seem to bear the brunt of the pay bashing type arguments, but in reality it's the private sector that rakes in the big cash.

Think of the corporate jets - how much do they cost in fuel per trip?

Must be a lot, and the argument that they 'provide jobs' doesn't really cut it.

How many jobs does it create to dig up a football sized diamond for an African dictator?

Many, many jobs no doubt, and I"m sure they are full time for many months.

But at what cost?

Who tends the fields and families whist the masses are toiling away in the dirt looking for a stone to put around the leader's neck?

This is the point I'm making here.

Ken has stated before in other threads that he is a good little communist. Why would any of this surprise any of you?

Do you have any idea of the liability insurance doctors have to carry now? Let me give you a hint- it is tremendously high.
But the ACA will change all that, and doctor's won't have to charge as much as they do now. Once their insurance burden is lifted off their shoulders, they will be affected by the same capitalism that rules other businesses. If they want to stay competitive, their rates will go down.

It is not our professionals- the engineers, doctors, lawyers, and others- who are being highly overpaid for their skills. It's the men who move money around that get the abnormally high money, and the head officers of corporations.
They are the most secure, too. As long as they provide the bacon that keeps the wheels of politics nicely greased, there's nothing you or I can do a thing about them.

Until meaningful reform is made to political donations, lobbying money, and financial campaign limits, you are going to live with it, whether you like it or not. If you are so bent on helping the country, vote your scoundrel out the next time he runs for office.
Inflation numbers that our gov't publish are strongly deliberately underestimated. They intentionally exclude from consideration highly inflative products to report low inflation numbers and therefore have ability to keep low interest rates for serving our enormous state debt.

OK then - become the leader - make the change.

That's what Adults do.

Or have you not even sold yourself on your ideology?
