really? I cant seem to own any class III firearms without government approval. you get to go to prison if you get caught with oe without a class III stamp on it.
This is a deeply ingrained cultural and ideological war. The fight over this issue will never be over EVEN if a SCOTUS rules against every state and federal gun restriction that might be passed. It will come up again when SCOTUS is heavily Socialist.
So explain to me why so many republicans were petrified of a debate on the floor that they attempted a filibuster to prevent it ever seeing the light of day. It won't be pretty with the gun victims up in the gallery, can't wait to hear the explanations.

Yeah well, I'd suggest you read through that thread you are quoting from before trying to take posts out of context. I don't think anyone is coming to "take my guns" but the fact that so many are convinced it could never happen baffles me, and that was the point of the thread you are quoting from.

Since the rise of the Sons of Liberty in 1765, a personal firearm has been the best, most effective weapon to SELF protection when faced with thuggery, of any stripe, and if one doesn't understand the historical ramifications of disarmament, you don't deserve U.S. Citizenship, nor will you be able to sustain ANY rights.
