What if they want to create demand outside this country

I hear some hiring is going on, at 29 hrs a week.....

You want to see more isn't happening?

Obamacare.

Recession.

Oppressive taxes and over regulation.

Obamacare, (yes I said it twice, because the "Affordable health care act", is so convoluted and difficult to understand, as well as all the cost increases associated with it, is the core of MANY hiring decisions.

Want to correct the problem, revoke obamacare, and do something about all the damned over regulation of everything. If a company has to start out by hiring a bookkeeper, an HR person, and a lawyer, just to be able to navigate all the rules and regulations, before considering hiring employees, then we have a problem.

This is why I support Universal Healthcare and removing healthcare from employment. Doing that removes some of the risk of leaving a larger company with a healthplan to pursue small business interests. It is a shame the Republicans shot down that idea.

Gotta agree with you on that.

Agree with you somewhat

The only issue I have is that they were NOT job creators.

That's funny. I was pretty sure the Republicans have been arguing that Obamacare and tax rates and business regulations are what keep companies from hiring, not demand.

Neither type of business is "the job creation engine." Businesses hire when demand dictates. End of story.

As for the contention that, " this administration has continually crapped on them since he was elected," while untrue is also irrelevant. Unemployment surged during 2008, a year before Obama was even inaugurated.

Does the below look to you like a president who doesn't have job gains, or like a president who inherited an economy in free fall? You can accuse Obama of not doing enough to promote recovery but to claim that Obama is responsible for businesses not hiring, which they are ever since his policies went into effect, is indefensible. Moreover, the biggest losses in jobs is the public sector (graph on right), not the private sector.

........

Business is created through demand for a product.

Simple question. Discuss.
The first and only rule of business is to maximize profits to its shareholders. If hiring more people will advance that goal then more people will be hired. I would rather invest in companies that don't need a lot of workers since they are actually an expense that adds nothing to the bottom line.
