Did Congress have the intention to make everyone born under the 14th Amendment a natural born citizen?

There are no such thing as anchor babies (its a emotional term brought up by racists and anti-immigration morons). they are children born on US Soil and are citizens by birth.

No one is "born" under the 14th Amendment.

Everyone who is born in US are natural born citizens (with only 2 exceptions).

Either that or it is what you call a tiny anchor sitting next to a full size anchor.

Help me out here. What was the purpose of the 14th Amendment?

Illegally break away? WTH? Since when to countries stop their citizens from migrating somewhere else? You do know the difference between legal and illegal immigration, don't you? It's unAmerican to have immigration laws? Every country in the world has immigration laws which means you ask permission to migrate there first. If not, you are an illegal alien if you come anyway.

Yes, illegal or not, anyone on US Soil (except for Ambassadors and Enemy combatants) are subject to our jurisdiction.

Illegal aliens nor their anchors are under our jurisdiction in most every sense of the word.
Yes they are, in every SENSE of the word. If they break the laws in the US, they can be tried and convicted ON OUR soil, IN OUR court systems, and CAN BE JAILED here.

They are only subject to our laws by not violating them while on our soil.
that's what subject to our jurisdiction means. To be subject to our laws (all of them). Not when they are not violating them.

Who is being denied? We allow in over 1 million legal immigrants per year from all over the world. Our population has grown immensely from when our ancestors came here and we have less resources than we did back then and jobs to sustain more than we allow in already. Our nation is already built so that and all of the above required us to limit immigration into our country in modern times. Are you really this dense and clueless? There are about 2 billion impoverished across the world that would love to migrate here for a better life. Should we let them all in and commit national suicide? Kill the goose that laid the golden egg so to speak?
