Damn! Here's some Polysporin. Your knuckles are dragging on the ground and we don't want them to become infected.
..or getting any real action, if you have to rely on disparaging a celebrity that happens to be a woman, in a sexist manner, for earning a degree, to get your jollies.
You can even create your own major at some colleges.
Sometimes the problems come after you graduate with that custom degree and start looking for work.
Can't Pick a College Major? Create One - WSJ.com
More than 900 four-year colleges and universities allow students to develop their own programs of study with an adviser's help, up 5.1% from five years ago, based on data from the College Board, a New York-based nonprofit organization of colleges and universities.
..
The programs can spark students' enthusiasm for learning and sometimes equip them for complicated, cross-disciplinary jobs or emerging career fields. But parents are often wary, fearing their kids will drift too far from training for a real, paying job. Some employers look askance at do-it-yourself majors, too, saying their novelty leaves room for confusion about what, exactly, the grads can do.
I don't see why parents are wary....many college majors are nothing but false barriers of entry into the workforce and has no relative application.
Not to say that the "paper degree" is the way to go....that line of thinking has become embedded in way too many.
"Just get that piece of paper" and overnight you have 1,000,000 more psychologusts and case workers.
Are you or your family members being forced to study Chicano History? Obviously, it was an elective thing for her to do. One can study any history or culture and your post sounds ignorant, unworldly and and as if you think that people should be dictated to regarding what they should study or find interesting. BTW... she is of hispanic decent and it is very common for a person to have a desire to further their knowledge of their roots as her roots and Chicano roots are the same. Don't you know that Mexican history is very tied into American history? Guess not.
Here's another flash for ya...Mexico is part of the Americas.
One of these courses was banned at an American High School because it was teaching hate against non-hispanic white Americans that is what Chicano studies are. Roots my behind. It is just a coverup for what Chicano studies actually is. To "major" in it is a tell all about her.
So what that Mexico is a part of the Americas? It isn't a part of our country.
Oh stop with this. I am not anti-education nor are most conservatives. It would make no sense because conservatives want Americans gainfully employed rather than living off the government dole. I just find it odd that with all the studies out there she chose this one that teaches hate against white Americans cloaked as Latino history in America. She is also a rabid illegal alien supporter whom coincidently are mostly from her ethnic group. No agenda there, right?
Wtf is chicano studies? Is that supposed to be Mexican History where in their version the Americans are evil and bad and that Texas belongs to mexico? rofl
Yep, that's the one. It was banned at a U.S. high schoold for preaching hate towards non-hispanic white Americans. Latino history my butt.
Is this something we should all be outraged about?
Probably not if you were a brown supremist raving reconquista. Most of us don't advocate for hating a particular race because of some past greviences or because we think we are superior to others. Perhaps you should find out what Chicano Studies is actually all about. It's not just about Latino history in the U.S. but with hate being preached towards white, non-hispanic Americans over the past.
