You don't seem to get that these laws are not aimed at gun collectors or afficianados. They are meant to prevent or make it harder for nut jobs from getting guns and going on mass killing sprees. The bills don't pass because the NRA greases the wheels in DC, just like we don't have single-payer because the AMA greases the wheels. As far as motivated voters, it depends on where you live. Most polls I've read show that Americans, including Republicans and gun owners, at least support a national background check system.

Prior to the passage of Obamacare most polls showed that the majority of Americans opposed it but the Dems didn't seem to be overly concerned with that.

Earlier you said the Dems would regain control of the House? Were you high when you wrote that?

it does not matter what the intent is or who it is aimed at, the cause and intent does not always lead to a wanted effect.

ever hear of the term,(and novel) called unintended consequences?.

Prevent or make it harder, it wont, these laws have no effect on the lawless.

We have such laws on the book to prevent mass shootings yet that happen in those areas that have "gun free zones"

The NRA did not "grease" any wheels, Americans by the millions flood phone lines and Email in-boxes to make their voices heard,

There is no such thing as the "Gun Lobby" It the American People standing firm in there belief that our rights are God Given and Unalienable, and those rights are not to be Infringed upon.

yeah because out of a only 2000 people polled you can really get accurate get the opinions of a nation of 300,000,000 people in it, and even if 90% of people in this nation wanted to limit, alter, or infringe upon the rights of the American people that cant,

"The very purpose of a Bill of Rights was to withdraw certain subjects from the vicissitudes of political controversy, to place them beyond the reach of majorities and officials and to establish them as legal principles to be applied by the courts. One's . . . fundamental rights may not be submitted to vote; they depend on the outcome of no elections."

West Virginia State Bd. of Ed. v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624, 638 (1943)

that is was we have a bill of rights..

Where is your evidence that that's true? The nation is far from disarmed, yet the plutocrats effectively control the nation.

You can't just makeup facts. 80% of the nation supports tighter gun controls. The fact that Congress doesn't pass tighter laws is not because of the people. It's because they're get contributions from the gun lobby.
